Holly

I love you...

It whispered in my dreams as I slept. I love you. I was exhausted, giving birth to a baby takes all the energy out of you. I'm surprised with myself that I stayed awake for as long as I did. My dreams are crazy, I'm dreaming of Ollie telling me that he loved me which is utter nonsense, Ollie does not love me.

Mine and Ollie's son was gorgeous, he was so cute, even at the age he was you could already tell that he would look a lot like Ollie when he's older. He had already got his nose. His eyes were bright blue at the moment but I knew that they would be changing in a few months, into the deep blue of Ollie's or the pale grey of mine. Jamie's hair was dark like Ollie's as well.

I wriggled around uncomfortably as I woke. I looked around the room and saw Ollie sleeping on the hard plastic hospital chair that sat by my bed. He looked so peace, calm and beautiful as he slept. I heard a light knock on the door, "Come in," I called in a croaky voice. My throat was sore and dry, I reached over for the plastic cup beside the bed as the door opened slowly.

Josh slowly ambled in. "You okay?" he whispered me as took a seat on the other side of me. I nodded slowly smiling at him. Josh was attractive, he had always been but there was something about him that just didn't appeal to me, maybe it was because I viewed him as a brother or that I was falling in love with someone else, I just didn't know. "So have you told him?" Josh looked over towards where Ollie was sleeping. He was referring to the feelings I had towards Ollie.

"No," I told him truthfully.

"Sweetie you need to tell him."

"What if he doesn't feel the same way?"

"Yesterday when you told me that you loved me you should have seen his face, he was jealous," he explained. "He loves you like you love him. The only problem is that you just don't see it."

"How do you see it?"

"I've been your best friend for just over eighteen years, I know you well enough to know how you're feeling plus I'm a guy and notice when a guy has feelings for a girl."

"What about if he only loves me because of Jamie?"

"That's not true either, you said that you had strong feelings for each other last summer, why can't they have not intensified since then. Yes he loves Jamie but that is a bonus of loving you. Do you think he would have stuck by you all this time if he didn't love you?"

"I don't know, maybe he stuck by me because of Jamie not because he loved me."

"Take my word for it he loves you but he has to find a way of showing it and you have to do the same. End of conversation." He stopped suddenly.

I knew I was getting dramatic but love is such a powerful thing that no one really wanted to mess with it. One thing for sure was that I did love Ollie with my whole heart.

After being in the hospital two days straight Jamie and I were released. Everything was set up in my room ready for Jamie, I was very thankful for Olivia and Mike who organised it for me. Josh stayed for a couple more days after Jamie was born to help me, he stayed in my room. He kept on telling me that Ollie was jealous of our sleeping arrangement, even though Josh was sleeping on the floor. Ollie was an amazing father, he spent as much time as possible with Jamie, he was will to change him and do night shifts.

Once Josh had left I missed him even though we contacted each other every few days. But he had to go back to school for his exams. Ollie was less jealous of him and he spent more time with me in the afternoons once he had finished school. I was still jealous of Alyssa because she still came around and spending time with Ollie in the evenings.

As for Carley and Jake they spent all their free time together. Only yesterday they confirmed that they were together, for just over two and a half months they were bordering along the line of friendship and relationship. Somehow they managed to work through it and come out as a relationship. They were good together. I knew Carley still had doubts of being a mother but I knew that she had talked it through with Jake, he was very supportive of her.

At the end of June, one thing I didn't expect to see was a familiar face of the little girl I used to baby sit for. I walked downstairs one morning with Jamie in my arms when I collided with a small figure. "Sorry," I apologised immediately. I looked down towards the small figure and recognised the familiar face. "Lucy?"

The girl looked up at me, she smiled widely, "Holly, hey!"

"What you doing here?"

"I'm on holiday with my family. What are you doing here?"

"Oh, I live here," I told her truthfully lifting Jamie in my arms.

"Who's he?"

She looked at Jamie in my arms, I could see the smile grow on her face even more. I told her truthfully, "He's my son."

"Oh he's so cute. I love babies, I can't wait to have my own. My uncle he has a son who's four, so he's not much of a baby anymore-"

"Holly?" I heard from the hallway. I looked up to see Lucy's mother Ellie standing next to Olivia.

"Hi Mrs. McCain," I replied politely. "Can you not tell my mother about this?"

"I won't because I know you'll do it when you have to. I was once in your position, although I was a little older and my baby's father was my boyfriend, I managed to get through it with the support of my friends and my family. Now look where I am I have to amazing children and one gorgeous, delicious husband who I love to death. I couldn't be happier."

"Thank you Mrs. McCain."

"Now Holly, I've already told you on multiple occasions not to call me that but Ellie. Mrs. McCain makes me feel old, I'm only thirty. Now where's Tom?"

I remember seeing him enter Ollie's room, "I think he's Ollie's room."

Ellie and Olivia both smiled. "I love Ollie, he's such a sweet kid. I remember when we visited at the end of the summer last year he had just come home from his holiday and he kept on talking about this girl he met," Ellie said.

"That's nice," I said back uncomfortably.

"So who's your baby's daddy?"

I heard a cough behind me, "Me." I turned to see Ollie and Tom standing on the stairs above me. "I'm the father."

"So that makes you Holly, the girl."

"I guess."

"Lucy," Tom smiled shyly. It was obvious that he had a crush on Lucy but then again she looked at him the same way he looked at her.

"Tom!" a younger voice shrilled, it was Liam, Ellie and her husband's son." I haven't seen you in ages," Liam laughed lunging himself at Tom. Liam was only ten years old but you could tell that he would be a looker one day.

"Holly, we'll see you around but right now we have to settle in," Ellie hugged me.
