Twenty years later

I watched as my boy stand proudly next to his girl. I still couldn’t believe that he had to go and fall in love with Jake’s girl. 

As for Jake himself he’s good these days, him and his wife are celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary. She decided stay after a year of not seeing her daughter.  Jake forgave her easily that night of our wedding, they told each other that they loved other. They then spent the next nine years caring for their daughter.

Carley was happy with Jake and their baby. She needed that time way when their baby was born just to get her head together and she went to visit her mother, she finally overcame her fear of becoming her when she comforted her. She was the best mom she could be to her girl and her girl loved her very much.

I was proud of my son he’d taken care of their daughter these past three years. I was surprised when he told us that wanted her to move in last year. It didn’t happen at first because Jake didn’t want his girl to leave home because he thought she was too young. But they went ahead and moved in together when they started college, somehow Jamie had saved up enough money to rent out a flat for both of them. They were living happily together. There were still times when Jake disapproved but somehow Carley managed to calm him down and make him agree. They just wanted what was best for their daughter.

Five months ago Jamie proposed to her and she agreed. They decided to marry today, the day they first went out three years ago. They looked so happy together at the alter ready to say their vows. She was dressed in a beautiful white dress and him in a black tux. He looked so handsome. Our other son was dressed in a matching tux and stood next to Jamie. Our daughter wore a beautiful blue bridesmaids dress, she looked stunning.

We also had another son and we had a daughter. Our son Eric was seventeen, four years younger than Jamie, they were very protective of our daughter Avery, who was only thirteen. They both loved her to death and didn’t let anyone touch her. She was so beautiful but so shy that no one took notice of her beautiful, kind heart expect family. But I knew one day a boy would come along a shatter her, I just hoped that wouldn’t be any day soon.

I loved my family and my life; I was so glad I came here and met the love of my life. I can’t wait for what is to come.ouldn't wait for what is to come.
