Holly

It had been a month since Ollie went to college and I missed him so much, everyone did, even Alyssa she was being strangely nice to me. He had visited once in the month he had been away and that was two weeks ago, now it was my turn to go and see him. I was excited because I would be my first time seeing the campus and meeting his roommate.

I woke up late Friday because I knew Ollie would be in lectures all day and planned that I would arrive after they had finished, so I could spend as much time as possible with him. I fed and changed Jamie into Ollie’s favourite outfit before settling him in the car. Thankfully Jamie had been getting better with car journeys, he now spent most of the time sleeping or clapping his hands along to the music on the radio.

When we arrived on campus I texted Ollie telling him where we were so he could find us and not us finding him. He only took ten minutes to find us. He came rushing over to us with a happy smile on his face, he hugged us both tightly in his strong muscled arms and sighed, “I’ve missed you so much baby.”

“I’ve missed you more,” I replied wrapping my arms tightly around him.

“Impossible,” he laughed lightly kissing my forehead. “So let’s take you to my room.”

I nodded in agreement and handed Jamie to Ollie to get our things out of the car. Ollie stopped me and carried our things inside along with Jamie. He led us up one flight of stairs to his room, he unlocked the door as soon as we came across it. The green door opened wide to show a plain looking apartment, in one corner was a kitchen which led to the lounge slash dining room, another door led to a bathroom and the final two doors led to the bedrooms. I could tell that Ollie had made effort to clean up the place but what let him down was the pizza box left on the counter in the kitchen.

“This looks like a nice place.”

“Yeah it’s great, plus is not a long walk to the main campus where my lectures are. Let me show you to my room.” He led me to the first door on the right. Straight away I could tell it was his room because of the pictures he had plastered across the walls, most of them of Jamie and I but many of them of his family and friends.

“Wow, this is a good room,” I told him truthfully, out of the large window I could see miles and miles of countryside, it looked perfect.

“I really like it, I think I’m going enjoy living here.”

“Yeah I’m sure you are.”

Suddenly there is a knock at the door, “Oh shit that might be my roommate, he’s always forgetting his keys.” Ollie went to the door and opened it to reveal the most unexpected person.

“Hey Holly,” Josh smiled as he hugged me tightly. “Have you missed me?”

“Yeah Josh I have, why didn’t you tell me you were rooming with Ollie.”

“Yeah I’m rooming with him, he’s actually a cool guy and we can tell stories about you to each other, plus it means I get to see Jamie more often, as his uncle I don’t get to see him enough.” Josh took a quick look at Ollie before sighing, “Anyway I’d better be going, I have practise in ten minutes.”

“Practise for what?” I asked him as he trudged to the door.

“I’m on the football team.”

“Since when have you been interested in football?”

“Since always, Ollie’s on the team too.”

“What?”

Ollie comes up to me and holds my hand, “We’re both on the football team, but luckily coach let me have the weekend off because he knew you and Jamie were coming.”
