A policy change requiring the initiation of all young wolves, including females and family members of age, has set in motion changes which need to be made to the packs. A deadline had to be met to ensure the new members have an initiation date to join their new packs.
While these changes are being implemented and royal visits are taking place to make sure the process is smooth and deadlines are being met, Kellen begins to receive letters from one of his past flings. He becomes increasingly paranoid and secretive towards Ana. This is made worse when he receives photos, which imply Ana is spending more time than necessary with her ex-boyfriend, Alpha Chad Riggs. Ana and Kellen begin to argue constantly over Kellen's inability to be honest with her, having her pack's mail vetted and implementing 'security measures' which make it appear as if Ana's pack is benefiting from her relationship with Kellen. Ana then receives a 'sex diary' and several photos of Kellen's past flings and one-night stands.
At a ball for all family, pack members and soon-to-be initiates meeting their pack leaders, Kellen is confronted by Jennifer who claims he is ignoring her attempts to discuss his child. After a private chat with Jennifer, Ana retrieves the DNA result claiming Kellen to be the child's father and has her pack look into the authenticity of the results privately, enlisting her cousin James' help to do so. Ana and Kellen have a massive argument about Jennifer during which Kellen refuses to discuss the matter with Ana, she storms out stating 'I refuse to stay with someone who can't be honest with me.'
All the while, rogue activity has been increasing along the borders of the packs with southern facing borders; Prowess Wolfe, Alpha Riggs and Alpha Almound. This requires them to work very closely together to ensure their packs work collaboratively to protect their territories, all of which is unbeknown to the Royal family.
Kellen believes Ana broke up with him and Jennifer's child is his. Brody, Kellen's best friend and head of the northern royal guard, tries to reconcile Ana but instead learns of the increasing rogue activity. Kellen has a nightmare about someone killing Ana, the voice of the murderer seems to be familiar to him. In the background, there is a plot to destroy Kellen's reputation and his relationship with Ana using the rogues and Kellen's past to do so, as well as the ringleader being completely obsessed with Ana, and in a position of power. AS IT STANDS NOW; Ana initiates new members, Kellen goes to see her after the ceremony to reconcile and be honest with her but is instead kidnapped.
