Despite the bad timing of Ana’s interruption, I was thrilled she’d decided to talk to me, and once we were done with the pack, I repeated the conversation to the rest of my family. My family were relaxed about her interruption, they explained that when separated, inner wolves won’t hesitate to contact their mate.

Currently we sat convened in the living room, waiting for Ana to contact me. My family had decided they’d like to talk to Ana through me to try and establish a way of making her safe. I felt anxious; my insides were burning with the anticipation of talking to her again. After finishing my duty with the Alpha and concentrating on nothing but that, I had the freedom of thinking purely of her for what had remained of the day; my red dressed goddess who could bring my heart to a stop with just one glance.

Kellen? She asks tentatively, nervously.

Ana I breathed, saying this thought out loud. The sound of her thoughts sent relief soaring through my body, relaxing me, allowing for my clenched fists to unclench on the arms of the chair. My family’s gaze directed instantly towards my face with mild smiles hanging on their lips. However my attention was all for her, yet something was wrong; I felt her tension and her angst. “What’s wrong?” I voiced for my family’s benefit also. “My family is here also, they’d like to talk to you.” I added to prevent my family’s presence being a shock; I really didn’t want to scare her off.

Stressful end of the day, but you have a relaxing effect it seems. She smiled as I felt her body relax through my mind. What would your family like to talk about? She asked curiously. Glancing at my parents I saw their concern and voiced her answers, they frowned briefly.

“You have the same effect on me also.” I reply, a grin making its way to my face, which is then mirrored on Bell’s face. “Why was the end of your day stressful?” I question, my face falling into a frown.

Unexpected turn in events but it is of no matter. I hope your day wasn’t badly effected by my wrongful intrusion. She answered, her reply clipped with disapproval at her actions.

“My dear, when mates are separated from one another, a mere thought of reaching out to them will make it happen. We completely forgive your surprising interruption, especially since it put our son in a good mood for the rest of the day.” Finished Mom proudly.

“Mom!” I grumbled frowning. Despite my mild embarrassment, her musical laughter rang through my mind causing my grin to reappear. “She’s laughing.” I explained to my family’s now bemused expressions.

I see, well thank you I’m very greatful. She smiled before continuing politely; may I enquire as to what honour I owe the company of your family… your Majesties?

After repeating her question I looked expectantly at my parents; what I really wanted was to be able to have a private conversation with her, yet I found myself overruled. However I found comfort in the thought that I could soon enough claim back her attention after my family have said and asked what they needed to.

“We’d like to look into if an arrangement could be sort for your safety.” Began Dad promptly. I backed this proposition with my worries for her safety and my need for wanting to see her again.
