(Not demigods)
"Looking for these?"
My brother, Malcolm, stood a few feet away from me, holding my clothes in one arm and my towel in the other.
"Give it back!" I yelled, trying to hide my body behind the bathroom door.
Malcolm thought for a moment, dramatically raising his hand to his chin. Then he turned back to me and said, "Nope."
I clenched my jaw.
Sure, Malcolm was my brother. He had seen me naked before... When I was seven! I was seventeen now. I had changed, and I did not need Malcolm to see my changes!
"Malcolm, please. I'm supposed to be at Percy's in five minutes," I pleaded.
Malcolm rolled his eyes and the mention of my best friend. "He can wait."
He dropped my clothes and towel on the ground and walked away. I waited until I could hear him whistling downstairs until I ran out of the bathroom, grabbed my stuff, then ran back and closed the door. I locked it, then dried myself and put my clothes on.
I was wearing a pair of ripped denim shorts and a loose grey tank top. Perfect outfit for a hot summers day.
I brushed my hair, and gave it a quick blow with my hairdryer, then ran out of the bathroom.
I ran into my room to grab my phone and to slip on a pair of shoes, then made my way down the stairs, skipping one with every step.
Malcolm was standing at the front door, his arms crossed.
"What?" I asked.
"Please don't tell me that you're going to his house dressed like that," he said.
"No, of course not. This is my walking-to-his-house outfit. I'm gonna change into my in-his-house outfit when I get there."
Malcolm rolled his eyes.
"Why do you hate him so much?" I asked.
"You're a girl," Malcolm said, sighing. "Do you know how easily he could take advantage of you?"
"Percy wouldn't do that," I said. "Besides, he has a girlfriend."
As much as it pained me to say it, Percy did have a girlfriend. Rachel Dare. She's hated me since we were 12.
"Can I please go now?" I asked Malcolm.
He hesitated, but he stepped away from the door.
"Love you!" I said as I walked past him. "Well, not really. Bye!"
I ran down the street to Percy's house. He only lived one house away from me, so I only had to jog a short distance. Thank god, or else I probably would have been all sweaty and gross.
I knocked on Percy's door, and it swung open in only a few seconds.
As soon as my eyes focused on his face, my heart stopped. He looked even more attractive than usual, if that was even possible.
"Hey, Annie," he said, opening the door wider so I could enter.
"Don't call me Annie, Seaweed Brain," I warned as I walked past him.
Percy chuckled and closed the door behind me.
"Where's Tyson?" I asked, slipping my shoes off. Tyson was Percy's little brother (well, half-brother anyway). He's usually always running around.
"He, mom and dad went out. I think they took him to a movie or something."
I didn't really catch the last part. All that I was thinking about was the fact that Percy and I were alone.
