"Hurry up, Annabeth! We're going to be late!" Piper called into the Athena cabin. A few seconds later, the blonde-haired girl emerged from the cabin. Her eyes were red and puffy. Piper sighed and walked up to her friend.

"Oh, Annabeth. You have to stop crying." She said soothingly. She brushed her thumb under Annabeth's cheek, wiping away the tears.

"I'm sorry, Piper. I just can't stop thinking about... About..." Annabeth's lower lip quivered, like she was about to start crying again.

"No, don't you start crying on me. We have to meet with Jason and Leo soon and they probably don't wan to see you like this." She said. Annabeth took a deep breath and nodded.

"You're right. I'm not even going to think about him." She said, as the two started to walk off. They got to car parked outside of Camp Half-Blood- the car that Chiron let the demigods use every once and a while- and Piper drove off.

"Don't worry," Piper said. "This Christmas Party'll make you feel better and forget about you-know-who." Annabeth didn't reply, but just put on the radio. Christmas songs were playing back to back, because it was December. Annabeth was singing quietly to every song, but when All I Want for Christmas is You came on, she stopped.

"Turn it off." She said to Piper.

"What?" Piper asked.

"Turn the song off. Please." She said, closing her eyes and leaning her head on the window. Piper nodded and switched the radio off. She knew why Annabeth didn't like the song- it reminded her too much of her missing boyfriend, Percy Jackson.
