It was a nightmare that woke Leo up.

He woke up, sweating and panting. His face was burning up, as if the flames from his dream were real.

After many failed attempts of trying to get back to sleep, he decicded to get out of bed. He snuck out of his little room, and tiptoed to the deck, careful not to wake up any of the other demigods on board.

I'm as quiet as a ninja, he thought.

He stood on the deck, leaning against the side of the Argo 11. The cool wind blew in his curly hair and cooled him down. He sighed and hung his head, closing his eyes.

"Leo?"

Leo raised his head and looked behind him; Piper was standing behind him, in her pajamas.

"Hi Pipes," Leo mumbled and looked back at the horizon.

Piper walked towards him. "What's up? Why are you up here at this time?" she asked, putting her hand on his shoulder.

"I had a nightmare," Leo said.

Piper nodded and wrapped her arm around Leo's shoulders. Leo remembered all the times at The Wilderness School where Leo would wake up in the middle of the night because of nightmares. Piper would always be there to comfort him. (Jason was never much help.)

"About your mom?" Piper asked. Leo nodded, and felt a lump form in his throat. Tears ran down his cheeks. Piper sighed and pulled her friend into a hug.

"It's okay, Leo. It was just a nightmare," Piper said soothingly.

"It felt real," Leo mumbled.

Piper patted his back. "It's okay. It's gonna be okay."

Leo felt better with Piper. Not that he would ever make a move on her, of course. Her boyfriend was Leo's best friend. You couldn't make a move on your best friend's girlfriend. That was like, number one on the bro code. But Piper was one of his best friends. He loved her, but not in that way.

Piper pulled away. "Come on. You should go back to bed. Try to get some sleep."

Leo nodded. "Okay."

The walked back down to the bunks, and just as they were about to split, Leo called out to Piper. "Hey, Pipes?"

Piper turned to look at him. "Yeah?"

Leo gave her a small smile. "Thanks."

Piper didn't say anything. She just returned the smile and walked into her room.

Leo returned to his own bunk and flopped on the bed, and tried to get to sleep again, determined not to let the nightmares take over again.
