'Maddie?'

'Maddie, hija?'

Tita Cathy calls out from outside of my room. Napamulat ako ng mata at muntik na akong malaglag sa kama ng nakita ko ang natutulog na mukha ni Ethan.

Bushak! Oo nga pala. He helped me last night, dito na din pala sya nakatulog.

Tumayo ako bahagyang pinagbuksan si Tita Cathy ng pinto. Bakit kaya niya ako ginigising?

'Hi Tita, Good Morning po.' Bati ko sa kanya
'Good morning Hija, have you seen Ethan?' tanong ni Tita Cathy.

Naku po. Anong sasabihin ko. Sasabihin ko na lang hindi.

'Ahh ehh Tita H'hi-' Naputol ang sinasabi ko nang may biglang sumagot sa likod ko

'Hi Mom. Why are you looking for me?' Pupungas pungas pang tanong ni Ethan.

'Oh there you are. I checked your room and you are not there. Why did I even bother checking.' Ngingiti ngiting sabi ni Tita Cathy may pakindat pa.

Confirmed. Tropa nga sila ng nanay ko.

'Ai hindi po Tita, ano po kasi...' shit! nauutal ako.
Nahalata ni Ethan ang pagkataranta ko kaya siya na ang sumagot

'Oh no Mom. I woke up early and I brought Maddie's dress for tonight. I fell back asleep waiting for her as he fits it.' paliwanag ni Ethan

'Ah opo tita. Hindi ko na po pala kailangan pumunta ng mall kasi nadalhan ako ni Ethan ng dress.'
pagsang ayon ko naman sa sinabi ni Ethan dropping the issue of him sleeping in my room

'Ah ganun ba? Oh sige sabi niyo eh. So sweet naman of you my baby boy.' hinimas pa ni Tita Cathy ang pisngi ng anak which made Ethan cringe.

'Eew. Mom. stop it.' nanlalaking matang sabi ni Ethan

Natatawang umalis si Tita Cathy. 'Magbihis na kayong dalawa dahil aalis na tayo maya maya.' sigaw nito habang papalayo.

Gusto kong mainis kay Ethan dahil biglang lumabas sa harap ni Tita Cathy but remembering how comforting he was last night, i let it go.

'Thanks for last night, boyfriend.' I said while I smiled at him

'Anytime, girlfriend.' he said and left the room.

I prepared for this morning's event. I may not know what it is yet but they did not say that it's gonna be a formal event so I decided to just wear the one's i brought with me.

We quickly ate breakfast and went on our way. I found out from Tita Cathy that every Grandma's birthday, they do an outreach program din.
They would go to the less fortunate communities and give grocery items. Her dad pala used to be a governer here in La Union kaya kilalang kilala ang pamilya nila dito even is his dad already passed away. Gusto lang nilang ituloy ang nasimulan ng Daddy niya nuon.

Sa sasakyan ako ang nasa dulong kaliwa malapit sa window at si Ethan naman ang nasa kanan ko. We were seated at the 3rd row. Si Laureen and nasa pangalawang row katabi sina Tita Cathy and Tito Kevin. Someone's driving for us dahil hindi naman kabisado dito ni Tito Kevin kahit pa nakailang balik na sila dito.

Mukhang ang daming antok ni Ethan at pagkasandal ay nakatulog agad. Nakakaawang tingnan at laylay na laylay ang ulo niya. I placed his head on my shoulders and let him sleep there instead para naman kahit papano maging komportable siya.

I pulled my phone from my pocket and decided to listen to music instead. Hindi ko alam kung gaano katagal o kalayo ang byahe.

I got a text from my Mom asking me if I am enjoying and I quickly sent her a reply saying that I am. Hindi ko na sinabi sa kanya yung kulog at kidlat kagabi at baka magworry.
