Chapter 37 - Graduation Day

Anne’s POV

Tulad nung unang pagpasok ko dito sa Monte, it was a blur. Magulo, maraming tao. Mas maraming tao. Hindi lang students and teachers ang andito. Pati parents. Everyone’s face is so happy, excited and yung iba nagbibihis pa lang ng toga, yung mga nanay nag-iiyakan na.

I suddenly felt nostalgic hindi pa man kami official na graduate. I looked around and every corner ng school namin gave me memories na babaunin ko.

I remembered nung sinabi ng mommy na highschool would be the happiest part ng buhay ko as a student and I can say na tama nga siya. It was indeed a great adventure.

Ms. Ella greeted my mom smiling “I am Anne’s adviser, they call me Ms. Ella.” and kinamayan niya ang mommy

“Oh hi Miss Ella! It’s a pleasure to meet you! Thank you talaga kasi ikaw naging adviser ni Anne kasi she told me you have always been her favorite!...” mommy said as she shook Ms. Ella’s hand

“Ms. Ella hindi man lang ba ‘to nagka-boyfriend dito?”

Natawa si Ms. Ella and she said “Well Ms. Pereira, I don’t think meron naman po.”

“Oh my gosh! Wala talaga ma’am Ella?..” napatitig ako sa nanay ko when she turned to me and said “Sabi kasi sa’yo magayos ka! SIguro araw araw kang mukhang bruha dito kaya wala kang naging boyfriend! Ano ka ba naman!” ineexpect ko sasabihan niya ko ng good girl kinasama pala ng puso at balunbalunan niya

“Mommy ano ka ba!” hindi ko lang masabi na muntikan na. nagtawanan nalang sila ni Ms. Ella

Loka loka talaga ‘tong nanay ko pero in a good way. Buti hindi nagmana sa akin!

“And thank you to all my friends, my teachers, and everyone who made my highschool years so memorable. Without anyone’s support, I don’t know where to get all the inspiration and the motivation I need to be the Valedictorian that is standing infront of you. I dedicate this achievement to God, my family, friends and teachers who’s been tirelessly motivating me and helping me to get this achievement. Again, this is to our batch and everyone who have helped me all throughout. Congratualtions to all of us!” Allen finished his speech.

Napakahumble ng gagong ‘to. Kutos sa akin ‘to mamaya.

Si Ina na ang sumunod na magspeech. Mahaba haba siya talaga pero the one that touched my heart the most is when she said

“I really am so thankful and I feel so honored to be infront of you all right now to share one thing that I have learned in highschool. It is a given that we really have to study very hard. It will be one of the reason as to why our parents will be very happy and proud of us; because we all know that they have worked so hard so that we can study on this reputable school. But another important thing that highschool taught me are first, is that true friends will stick with you thru thick and thin and I am very glad to have met those people the moment I stepped in Maria Monte….” Ina said while she looked at us na nakaupo sa ibaba, listening to her.
