KASSIE

I cringed at the sound of sobs, and a fast beeping sound. I force my eyelids to open, as I successfully opened them, I momentarily cursed myself as I closed them again to the blinding light I saw.

As I adjusted, I opened them again. And all I saw was... white.

Patay na ba ako? Langit ba 'to? Ang swerte ko naman ata kung ganun? Akalain niyong, welcome ako dito?

I frowned as the white spots started disappearing on my sight.

I was alone in the room. Who was sobbing kanina? Was it just me?

I looked up and a white ceiling was all I see and as I moved my head sideways, all I could still see was white walls.

Seriously? Bakit ba lahat ng Ospit--. WHAT?!

I scanned the place again, and I move my head to the door as I heard it clicked open.

"Manong, paki-linis na lang po dito at yung mga wires na naka-lagay po sa pasyente paki-tangga-- Ahh!" I jumped slightly nang sumigaw yung nurse ata na kakapasok lang.

Nurse... Nurses are supposed to be in a h-hospital... Di ba? Ibig sabihin...

"Oh my God!" I heard the nurse say and left.

I was literally frozen on the spot.

I. Am. Inside. A. Hospital... A. Freaking. Death. Trap.

Without thinking, I began pulling out the syringes and tubes and wires (whatever you call it), out of my wrists and body.

"Ahhhhh! Ayoko dito!" I shouted.

"Ma'am! Huminahon po kayo! Andito po kayo sa Ospi--"

"Kaya nga po kailangan ko nang lumabas! I'm not safe here!" sabi ko while getting out of bed.

"Ma'am! Ligtas po kayo dito sa Ospita--" I cutted him again.

"Hindi! Hindi ko ligtas dito! Palabasin niyo ako!"

I ran to the door and would've gotten out successfully if it weren't for this man.

"Ano ba manong?! Pakawalan niyo ako! Kailangan kong lumabas!" pilit kong pinipihit at kinukuha ang mga kamay niya na pumipigil sa mga braso ko.

I stopped when the door flew open again. A woman with a white coat - the doctor probably and the nurse came back.

"Palabasin niyo ako dito!"

Then I remembered Toby...

"Toby! TOBY! Tulungan mo ako! TOBY!"

I screamed frantically for his name.

I want to get out of here. I have to.

Once he came inside, he was sweaty. "Kassie? What? Teka. Anong nangyayari dito?" he asked.

I successfully wriggled my way out and came jumping towards Toby. I don't care if we only just knew each other for minutes, pero kailangan ko talaga ngayon ng kaibigan. Nang masasandalan.

And Toby, is so perfect for that position.

"Ayoko dito... Please..." and tears started to pool my eyes.
