Two months later
"Are my girls hungry?" He smiles at me while I slowly step out of the shower. I just roll my eyes at him. I'm about eighteen weeks along, and he's convinced it's a girl but I don't wanna make any assumptions yet. I can't wait to find out the gender though, it's really exciting for me. Our friends want to throw us a gender reveal party, we told everyone really early for what happened last time, but we're confident this one won't go the same way. We've had lots of medical assistance, and our midwife comes in every few weeks and we go into the OB GYN office all of the time just for checkups to know the baby's doing alright. Prenatal care is important to us for the health of our baby.
"We don't know if it's a girl yet," I roll my eyes a little while he lays a hand on my stomach.
"I'm guessing." He shakes his head at me and I giggle. "I want a baby girl, but I'd be really happy with a boy too." He kisses along my stomach. "I'm just bummed about the sex." He pouts. "No sex for nine months, and then another four to six weeks after the baby's born." He repositions himself sliding his hand into his pants to fix his problem.
"We can, technically still have sex while I'm pregnant." I giggle at him.
"But last time we had sex while you were pregnant we ended up with a miscarriage." He brushes a hand over my head. "I don't wanna put you through that again."
"I still shouldn't make you suffer." I smile and he puts his hand out.
"I'll survive, I promise." He chuckles giving me a soft kiss. "As long as you and my baby are alright than I'll be good." He nods carrying me out to the kitchen where he has a whole assortment of food for me.
"Our midwife will be over in about an hour, and then we are netting with our parents," I squeal a little. They haven't gotten the news yet, it's still fairly early on but we're too excited to wait. Well know the gender in a couple of weeks, we've already made it through the first twelve weeks without a miscarriage and now we think it's safe to tell people.
"Or she'll be over now," He chuckles at the knock on our door. She prefers taking the stairs to getting an access card to come up.
"Alright," I smile eating a couple of pieces fruit that are on the table.
"Hello, my favourite pregnant woman," she smiles giving me a hug and looking at my still barely visible bump.
"Hi Janice," I smile hugging her back while Shawn tried to gather the food on the table. "Leave my fruit," I growl throwing a grape at his head.
"You're such a child," he huffs and I roll my eyes.
"Let's just check on your baby ok?" I lay myself on the couch and she feels everything like usual making sure it's still moving around and doing well. We want a new name for this baby, a special name. Denver and Fleur are for our first baby. But the name this one will get is gonna be special, just as special as any other one of our kids names. "It'll be the size of a sweet potato now." She smiles nodding at herself. "It all looks good," She smiles. She doesn't worry about my health at all Shawn and I both have very high expectations for one another, so even on days I don't wanna eat healthy or work out he makes me. Except for our chest days. He left me do whatever I want every Saturday.
"Thank you," I smile looking at this yoga ball still in its box. They said that when I go into labour it'll be nice to have, even before I go into labour, just in the later stages of my pregnancy.
"I'll be back in next week," she smiles excitedly slipping off.
"Now eat a little bit and we'll head out early. Maybe we'll start looking at maternity clothes," he giggles and I push his shoulder.
"I'm not fat yet," I huff and he chuckles.
"You won't be fat, even when you get a bump." He kisses my cheek.
"We're not looking at maternity clothes," I shake my head kissing him gently. "Not a chance."
. . .
We look at our parents, mine are very happy with the man I've chosen and his seem happy with me too. I hope they are at least. They brought Weston who brought his son. I didn't even know Weston had a girlfriend but he has the worlds most adorable boy and Shawn's been trying to make the baby girdle since he saw him. "Where's your smile?" Shawn giggles at the boy who looks unamused with his attempts, it makes Weston laugh.
"So, when'd you have him?" I look at the kid Shawn's playing with.
"He's six months old, me and my boyfriend," his jaw drops and he's covering her mouth quickly.
"Your boyfriend?" My eyes go wide with curiosity and he sighs a little.
"Don't make a big deal out of it, it's nothing." He shakes his head.
"Alright, alright."
"That baby boy is the product of me sleeping with a woman before I met Jack." He smiles and I nod looking at him. "She put him up for adoption, but when there was no name on the birth certificate for the father part she gave him to me and never called me again." I look at the sweet boy bringing him into my arms.
"Hello cutie, hello," I smile kissing his head.
"She made sure that he was mine and I couldn't give him back, even though I wouldn't want to." He chuckles taking the boy and giving him some crackers.
"That's gonna be us soon," he smiles at how Weston holds the child feeding him and kissing him.
"I can't wait," I mumble kissing his cheek. "I can not wait." His hand falls against the lowest part of my stomach. I can barely feel the movements so I'm not sure if he can or not but he smiles anyways.
"We have something to tell you guys," he smiles nodding against my head. I don't wanna keep this secret any longer than he does.
"We called this lunch not only for us to meet each other's families, but so that we could make a special announcement." They try to check my hidden hands for rings suspecting nothing else.
"Should we just tell them?" He giggles kissing my head and I shrug.
"Do we drag it on, and on, and on?" I giggle back while they all groan. "We're pregnant!"
