"You got yourself in trouble again," I huff at the sleeping man in my passengers seat. It's only been a week and I can't stand it but his parents say he's enjoying his time alone. "I'm gonna bring you home," I've been sitting in the parking space for ten minutes just staring at him. I brought his wheelchair in and wheeled him out in gonna let him sleep. "Yeah." I nod to myself finally finding the strength to start the car. The officer said he told them to call me but I have every doubt in my mind that he did. There's no way he wanted me to pick him up, plus Caroline is a really good friend of mine and she was the responding officer to his charge. "Goodnight bubble," I whisper laying him in bed covering him with the blankets.
"Stay with me," he whispers his eyes closed but his hand held out.
"It hasn't been a month," I shake my head wiping he tears that cover my face.
"Just lay down for a bit, right in my arms. It won't be any longer than a minute and then you'll be gone. And I could keep you warm."
"Act like you love me?" I beg laying myself down next to him. "So I can go on." My eyes shut. "I just want one more night, lying in this bed." I know that it's not right, but I've made sense of it. And I'll be gone in the morning anyways, he won't remember this. I just needed one more night, so that I can forget.
"Promise me you'll sneak out, while I'm still asleep?" He hums kissing my shoulder. When I'm miles down the road, he'll wake up, and he'll think it was all I dream.
"I promise," I nod letting a tear fall down my cheek. I won't sleep, he's gonna act like he loves me for one night so I can go on.
"So you're just gonna stay here, lay here, right in my arms." He verifies just to make sure. "I don't think I could take it if when I woke up in the morning you were already gone." He whispers kissing my cheek while he slowly pulls my clothes off so he can put his shirt on me. "And I, just want to keep you warm. I think you might have to act like you love me, because I don't think I can go on." He begs a little pulling me closer.
"Can we just pretend that we love each other? Just for a minute." I pull myself closer to him.
"I don't have to fake anything." He smiles rolling on top of me bringing me into a kiss.
"Don't do this, you're gonna make it harder for us both," I beg but he doesn't stop and I can't help but kiss him back.
"Stop kissing back, and I'll stop." He knows I can't, he'll pout if I stop and I don't want him to pout.
"I won't be able to leave tomorrow." I mumble while he presses his body closer to mine. "Please?" I beg while his arms wrap around me.
"You don't have to leave tomorrow, you can stay baby, you can stay. I've made up my mind." He presses rougher kisses and moves to my neck.
"What about Skylar? I left her with Brooke?" I plead and he chuckles.
"I'll text her and tell her we'll pick her up in the morning and I take full responsibility for the inconvenience." He starts grinding and moves back to my lips. "Now let me show you I love you, no acting necessary."
...
It wasn't like anything we've ever done. He said he was gonna love me with the lights on. He had both lamps on and he let the light of the moon shine in on us. We loved for hours and he really did explore my whole body, and when my alarm went off this morning he shut it off and held me tighter so I couldn't leave. "Hello princess," Shawn smiles while our little girl hooks her hands in his hair. "Hello my princess," he gasps making her giggle. "And hello to you my other princess." He giggles at daisy who he lifts also.
"Who wants to come to me?" I hold my arms out and Skylar drops into them Daisy hasn't seen him in a long time, she wants to cuddle him, but if Skylar hasn't I know she would've come to my arms.
"I missed you uncle Shawnee," She giggles against his shoulder while she lays her head against it.
"I don't remember this nickname." He tickles her gently.
"I just came up with it!" She twitches with excitement. "I like it," she nods at him and he nods back.
"I think it's great." He nods while Brooke gives me a proud smile. She's been around since junior high. She deserved so much more than this in life. She's an only child and now a single mom, she's always wanted her kids to have siblings and they don't, she doesn't want it to be a chain that continues. Not to mention she's the last in her family line and she needs a boy to carry on her family name.
"Me and uncle Shawnee should get home," I nod at Daisy who pouts. Clinging a little tighter to the man.
"Come on Aunty Cam, just a little longer, can he read me a book?" She looks up with soft eyes. "Just one I promise."
"Let's go before she answers," Shawn whispers rushing away so I can't drag him back.
"I'm glad you two made up," Brooke giggles while I sit down next to her.
"We made up, it doesn't mean our parents are happy." I sigh a little.
"Come on, you're twenty five, you can make your own decisions." I hush her softly.
"He doesn't know that." I chuckle while Skylar squeals.
"He celebrated your birthday with us," she shakes her head at me.
"I told him I was turning twenty two, and I got him so drunk he can't remember most of it, I can't either." He gives the best presents.
"You light weight."
