Five years later

"Wow," his parents smile at us. They seem to think we're insane but we're in love, we're happy, and we're having another baby. Just not how we planned to. "That's, well it's, wow." They can't seem to find any other words to use. About two years ago we found out that I couldn't have any more kids. Something about the odd shape of my uterus. We've been looking at getting a surrogate for a while and we finally found one that we like. It's been a year long process because of all of the physical and mental aspects of this but it's gonna be a great thing for us and we're excited.

"Cam can't have anymore kids." He explains knowing that no one understands why we're doing this. "She's not medically able, so we found a woman that is and she's gonna carry our baby for us." He runs his hand over mine and kisses my temple while our two rascals run towards us from inside the house where they tortured Aaliyah who's also visiting. "This Baby is still gonna be ours, and it will still be just as perfect as these two." He kisses both of them. Skylar pulls up the seat next to me and Noah sits in Shawn's lap. When it comes to choosing parents Skylar has and probably always will be a little more resentful towards Shawn, but we know she loves him no matter what.

"Hello baby girl." I smile kissing her head while she looks to her grandparents.

"Hello lovey, hi avo." She smiles before leaning against my shoulder. "When does the new prosthetic get in, I can't hop forever mama." She sighs. She grows fast and the prosthetics can't keep up.

"I know sweetheart, it should be in soon." I peck her forehead and grab my husbands hand. He cries almost every night because he's worried she doesn't love him anymore. And he's done it for five years non stop, she just can't accept that he made a mistake. She's good at holding grudges, and he just wants forgiveness. "Why don't you sit with dad?" I whisper to her.

"Because I don't like sitting with him," she sits herself up straight and hops to the other side sitting between her grandparents.

"Skylar sweetheart, why don't you come and sit with me?" He begs almost.

"I don't want to sit with you, I told you already." She huffs while his mom gives her a soft hug. Poor Shawn gets this everyday. He's not allowed to eat dinner with us, and because Noah doesn't remember or understand very well Shawn leaves the house when we eat and comes home and eats later. Sometimes he comes home while we're still eating and Noah tries to make him sit down. He's been very good at knowing when not to come in thought.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to push." They're supposed to attend therapy classes together, but instead he goes all alone because she refuses to go anywhere with him for longer than five minutes. I feel like she doesn't even know why she's mad anymore, and he's always hurting or upset in some way because she broke him so badly.

"Skylar don't be rude." I scold and she nods softly, she won't apologize to him but she will acknowledge that she wasn't kind. "Come on, let's head home leave lovey and avo to their afternoon." I lift my little boy out of Shawn's lap. "I'll start dinner." I smile kissing his little cheek.

"I'm gonna stay here, call me when you need me ok?" He swallows and I nod. His impulse control has gotten a lot better, he's back to the sweet soft hearted Shawn that cries over everything. Most of the reason why I can't get pregnant is because he doesn't want to try. He's worried about having a baby at all. He's afraid he'll make another child hate him.

"Why don't you come home, eat with us tonight?" I mumble but Skylar can still pick it up.

"I don't wanna be rude mama but he can stay with lovey and avo."

"Well it was rude anyways and he's coming home." I grab his hand and drag him towards Skylar.

"Daddy," Noah reaches out clinging to his dad father. "You're gonna eat with us tonight?" He smiles, Shawn can't resist his smile. I don't know who could, he shows off all of his teeth and his gorgeous eyes hold stuck in a squint.
