Present day
We missed our Valentine's Day vacation, and simply because she wanted to take the kids on a road trip. We both agreed that Valentine's Day wasn't the perfect time either so we celebrated privately. In the place I'm taking her for her birthday. She's been talking for months about how cool Iceland looks and I've done research on the nicest parts to visit and I've gathered that blue lagoon is the best. It's beautiful and at night it's all lit up by candles and she just loves it here. We've only been here for less than an hour. "What should we do first, mess up the bed or get into the water?" I smile at her pressing my lips against hers. "Personally I prefer option one." I smirk bringing her closer until there's no space between us. "But you're the birthday girl, so you get to pick."
"The birthday girl says we should." Shes cut off when the door flies open. She moved off of me breaking the kiss and moving away.
"We just got checked into our rooms and wanted to see what yours looked like." They smile, she got me to invite the girls, not their boyfriends because they're watching the kids. "Hey Shawn." They smile handing her a bathing suit and they all strip down to put theirs on.
"Let's go swimming." She smiles kissing me gently. "We'll mess the bed up later, I promise." She looks up and I nod. I guess this is an important birthday for her and all of her friends. She's turning thirty four. I'm only twenty seven, they call me the baby.
"You could get changed too you know." The girls I refuse to look at tease and I shake my head.
"You just wanna see me naked." I tease and I can hear Cameron's giggle.
"Go change in the bathroom and meet us out there." She kisses my neck from behind. "Thank you for letting them come." She hums and I nod. It's her birthday and she's spoiled so whatever she wants she gets.
"Don't make me regret it." I pull her back and into my chest. "This is our make up trip, not theirs." I hum and she nods kissing my cheek.
"I'll see you out there." She squeezes my hand and then makes off disappearing out the door. I pull my clothes off and slide into a pair of swim trunks.
"Do we just get to sit here?" I raise an eyebrow at her she simply lays her feet in the water. "Everyone else is swimming babe, why aren't you?" I kiss her head and sit next to her.
"I was waiting." She smiles leaning against my shoulder. "I don't get to be babied very often, I wanna take advantage of it." She giggles letting me into the water first so she can fall into my arms.
"Me too." I smile kissing her sweetly. "I want to take advantage of every second of it." I kiss her softly and lead her towards her friends wading in the water.
"Come on," they groan at my sight. "Let us celebrate our birthday girl?" They bed while I cling to her tightly. "She was ours before she was yours." They challenge and I groan back.
"I'm heading back to the room, ok?" I kiss her cheek holding her against me. "It's still early I have lots of time to celebrate you." I reassure when she pouts.
"You've gotta be nice to them too." She warns almost and I roll my eyes. "I'm serious, you've gotta be nice."
"I could be a little nicer if they weren't robbing me of my trip." They found out we were going and bothered their boyfriends and husbands about it so naturally everyone made me take them on my trip. I'm starting to think I should've canceled it when I had the chance.
"They're here for me, so let me spend time with them too." She smiles kissing me quickly and swimming towards the girls. I'll lay out her birthday gifts and hope that we could be alone for once. I'm gonna set up a trail of her gifts leading into the bathroom where she'll take a nice bubble bath and then when I bring her out she can come and cuddle with me in bed until she's ready for her final gift.

I watch through the peephole as the girls walk in opposite directions and Cameron nears me. I open he door before she can and smile while she walks in. "Have you eaten?" She smiles at me ignoring all that I've done to the room. "The girls took me out for dinner that's why I took so long." She giggles to herself grabbing some pyjamas. Consisting solely of my clothes. "Thank you for letting them come, it means a lot to me." She didn't want to celebrate her birthday this year, so it was just supposed to be the two of us and we were gonna have lots of fun and celebrate her privately. But now she's out and about, celebrating her birthday like there's no tomorrow.
"But Candy I was really hoping we could," she cuts me off with a gentile kiss.
"We're gonna watch movies in Lucy's room." She hugs me softly. "If it gets too late I'll stay at Lucy's ok?"
"You don't have to, you can come back anytime." I nod hugging her back this is like the only present I can give her. "Happy birthday." I smile kissing her forehead.
"Thank you, I love you." She smiles rushing off. As soon as the door opens Sierra and Brooke giggle at her and Caroline runs from over the bridge while they make their way to Lucy's room to watch movies. I can't believe she didn't even notice, I spent hours setting this all up, I made her dinner and did everything just how she likes it and she didn't even notice that I did any of it. It's not fair. But that's life trying to compete with the girls she's known forever. I love them, but I need them to love me too by letting me see the one I love the most.
"Hello?" I open the door seeing non other than Cameron standing behind it.
"I forgot my room key,"
