JALYN'S POV

That night we all watched movies and ate to our hearts content. I ignored my parents phone calls and texts. When morning came and it was time to check my phone there were only two missed calls and twelve text messages. My heart sunk. At least they cared some... but when Ray ran off one night his inbox was full and his phone was filled with texts. I read a text; 'call us when you see this'. I hit the call button.

"Where the hell are you?!?" An angry voice said through the speaker.
"I told you I'd be gone I didn't give a date and time. I'm at Gerard and Mikey's house" I replied trying to sound unfazed by them not giving a shit that their only child was gone.
"You hoe. Of course you went to a boy's house" I couldn't handle that... I stopped listening as she ranted. I felt hot tears of sadness, anger, and frustration well up behind my eyes. I cut into her yelling on the phone.
"I don't give a fuck about what you think about me anymore. If I did I'd still be home. Your only job is to care about me and you can't even do that. How can you expect me to respect you when you treat me like shit" I almost couldn't breathe. I dropped my phone and the world around me faded.

It's a peaceful, quiet, and lonely feeling. Peaceful because I couldn't be disturbed. Quiet because the ringing in my ears became steady and normal. And finally lonely because I knew that they didn't love me, I knew they wouldn't ever care about me.

GERARD'S POV

I got up early to make breakfast for Jalyn. I put 'American Idiot' by Green Day on the kitchen speakers and danced around while making pancakes and smoothies. When I was done Jalyn still was in bed. I decided to let her sleep another few moments. I put the pancakes in the oven on a low heat to keep them warm and the smoothies in the fridge. The coffee maker squealed as the hot drink poured from the machine. I left them on the table and went to wake her up. I danced all the way down the hall "don't wanna be an American idiot" I sang.

All of the singing and dancing was brought to an abrupt halt when I saw Jalyn lying in the floor, completely unconscious. My smile inverted into a concerned frown. She'd blacked out... she looked lifeless.
"Jay. Hey, c'mon it's okay" I picked her up off the floor and brought her to the couch. I shook and shook her but I got no response. She was getting cold, yet somehow her face read happy though there was no smile, zero emotion. She looked indefinitely happy. I picked up the speaker, stopped the music, and started screaming into it.
"JALYN. JALYN WAKE UP. FUCKING WAKE UP"

I left her laying there for a few more minutes before she came to and was breathing heavily.

"My fucking parents" she said running her hands over her face. Without another word she grabbed me into a hug.
"I'm so sorry. It's okay though, because you're here now. You're with me now. C'mon let's go eat and then we'll do something fun today".
