JALYN'S POV
"Good morning bed head" a familiar voice said laying my head on his leg.
"Uhhg" I replied curling around him and rolling over.
"C'mon we're gonna be late. Mikey already fed Mouse and gave him those treats he loves. I let him out back too. All you have to do is get dressed." I rolled back over and fluttered my eyes open.
"You're my favorite" I said sitting up straight.
"Well I'd hope so... otherwise this would just be weird" he said jokingly.

I got up and walked downstairs to my room. I went through my closet. I skimmed everything and picked out a pair of old jeans that didn't used to be ripped, then I got out my Nirvana t-shirt. After I was dressed I walked into the bathroom and straightened out my hair and put on my eyeliner. I threw on a jacket I had picked up a few weeks ago and brushed my teeth, before leaving the bathroom I grabbed a tattoo choker and put it on as I walked out the door. Gee was already waiting in the car. I put my bag in the back and climbed in. I looked over at Gerard who looked like he was in pretty bad shape. He's finally off of the crutches but he's still wearing a boot. He has a lingering bruise from his eye to his lower cheek from him and Steve's dispute from a few days ago. I can still see the tear in his lip from where it had bled.
"I'm sorry babe but you look rough" I said putting my hand where his was on the center console.
"I'm aware" he said. I pulled my foundation out of the side pocket of my bag.
"Here. I fix it" I said as I smeared the skin colored cream onto his face as he drove.
"It's a good thing we're both pale as shit or this would be awful looking" I said putting it back into my bag.
"Is it better?" He asked looking in the rear view mirror.
"Much better. You can barely tell" I said reassuringly.

When we got to the school everyone was standing in their normal places. We walked over to our group. We all talked for a while until douche bag Steve came over to where we were standing. He walked up behind Kaitlyn and hugged her from behind.
"Hey, you" he said. When she heard his voice her eyes got huge. She was either angry or she thought she was about to get in trouble.
"Do you want to hang out later. I had fun with you in Saturday" he said turning her towards him. I peeked at faces around our circle and they were all either confused or angry. Especially Gerard.
"I'll text you later" she said signaling him to leave.
"Okay. Bye" he said walking away towards all of his jock and cheerleading friends.
"What the hell what that shit?!" Gerard was hostile and I could see his knee shaking. I wanted to grab him and help him calm down, but I wasn't doing so good either. Hannah stood in shock. She had let go of Frank's hand. Frank had no concern over Kaitlyn and was only looking at Hannah. It was like he was waiting for her to collapse. I was waiting for myself to collapse. We all stood in awkward and uneasy silence until finally the bell rang. I first walked to Hannah.
"It's okay. Forget about it for now. We'll figure it out at my house later, okay?" I assured her. She looked forwards and took a breath.
"Okay" she answered simply. Next I walked to Frank.
"Look out for her today.... it's gonna be bad for her" I said warning him.
"I'm all over it" he said reassuring me. I walked past Ray who was unfazed and went to Mikey who was more scared than angry.
"I don't think I can handle him being a part of my life Jay. He's threatened me twice and my brother has taken the heat for me twice" his voice shook as he spoke.
"We'll figure it out. If he messes with you today then take Gee's car home and play with Mouse for a while, we can walk home. The keys are hidden behind the gas tank door." I whispered to him. He just nodded and walked away with Ray. Next was Gerard.
"I swear to fucking god he's dead. Harrington is a dead man walking. I can't believe her. She saw what he did to me, everyone did and she lied to me, to all of us" he ranted.
"Yea she did, she lied to us all and she can't fix it. But I know her, and there's a reason. We don't know what it is yet but we will tonight, so just keep cool until then." I said hugging him and kissing him goodbye.

I got to my first period English just before the late bell and sat in my seat. Ray sat in front of me and got out his homework. He shuffled papers for a few moments then turned around.
"What do you think about this?" He said looking me in the eyes.
"I think Kaitlyn made a stupid mistake and she's gonna tell us why tonight at my house. I can't help what she did. Am I livid about it? Yes. But I know she didn't mean for it to happen like this. I replied.
"All I know is that he threatened Mikey, and he's a part of the family we've made for ourselves and so is Kaitlyn, so I don't understand why she would take it for granted" he said concerned. The teacher walked in and gave the que for us t shut up. Ray, being obedient, turned around and closed his mouth. Me however? I'm not that obedient. I grabbed a piece of paper and chucked at Mrs. Klimb when she turned around.
"Who threw paper!" She said sternly as she turned around. All fingers were pointing directly at me.
"Does anyone know the term 'thrown under the bus'? Because if not, ya do now" I said sliding down into my seat. The teacher gave me a stern 'strike one' look and turned back around. Ray turned around and smiled at me shaking his head.

Next class was science with Frankie, and the beloved Trinity.... aka snake. I walked in and sat down in front of Frank.
"What's uuup" I greeted Frank in the quiet room. Everyone turned to look at me as I slid into my seat. As soon as I sat down Frank started kicking me under the chair and every time I kicked him right back. We were laughing at each other in the midst of the quiet classroom.
"Mrs. Watson, Mr. Iero. Please start your lesson" Mrs. Landers said irritated.
"Sorry Frankie was harassing me" I said jokingly.
"Snitches get stitches" he said sticking his tongue out at me.
"Well so do bitches so I guess we're both screwed" I said as he burst out laughing. Luckily our teacher had a good sense of humor so we didn't get written up for 'insubordination' or whatever the hell they write kids up for.

In my 3rd period Civics we watched a movie called City Of Ember. The first ten minutes were good. I'm sure the rest of it was great too, I would know though I fell asleep. In my math class I actually had to pay attention because I was drowning in that class. Unfortunately it's the only period I have with Hannah so I didn't get to see how she was doing.

After math, which is my last period of the day, I walked out into the lobby where we meet in the morning and waited for Mikey and Gerard. Hannah waved goodbye to me as she left and Kaitlyn awkwardly followed behind her. That's gonna be a crappie car ride home.
"I'll see you later" she screamed to me as she walked out the door. Frank and Ray followed soon behind them, also waving goodbye.
"What time?" Ray yelled stopping.
"Just be there at six" I replied as he nodded to me and left. Gerard walked up with a straight face. A wave of cold bad energy flowed through him and into me when he put his arm around my shoulder.
"Are you okay?" I asked turning around.
"No, but I will be" he said grabbing me into a hug.
After a few minutes Mikey walked over to us and we headed through the door. It was quite as we walked to the car. Gerard grabbed Mikey by the shoulders and looked him in the eyes.
"Did he talk to you today?" Gerard asked. Mikey only shook his head no.
"Okay. If he does, do not run. If you run he does too. You cannot let him run after you because it will be ten times worse if he does. He's strong. Stronger than me, stronger than you. Don't run, I will be there for you I promise" he grabbed him into a hug.

We drove home quietly and picked out movies and snacks for when the group arrived. After things were set out we all sat on the couch. Silently. I can only imagine what comes next for us. Chaos or compassion.
