Jack Duff
"But there is an upside." I said as I hung upside down from the monkey bars.
"And? What's that?" Mikey replied cupping my face and kissing me softly.
"Well, the more you hang around the more people I love will love you. They don't care about my sexuality Mikey." I said as I jumped down and put my feet back flat onto the ground.
He pulled me close.
"Well I've met your family now it's time for you to meet mine soon." Mikey replied.
I yelped.
"Mikey." I said bluntly.
"What?" He asked as he pulled his hoodie on his head.
"Can we talk about this later? You know my anxiety is high when I think about this." I replied.
"Of course love, I'll take it slow. But one thing I didn't hide was that you have anxiety and they understand." Mikey said as he nuzzled his head Into the crook of my neck.
I was relieved.
"Right now let's focus on being here. I want to show you a few more places before we go back home." I said.
Mikey Cobban
As we walked away from the park Jack grew up playing on He was walking down a street and then walked into a bakery.
Jamestown, Ireland was small. Well the town Jack grew up in was really a tight-nit community and everyone knew everyone.
"Jack! Glad you are back." This dude said from behind the counter.
"Thanks man. It's great to be back when I get a chance." Jack replied keeping my hand in his.
The dude looked down at our hands and smiled.
"You're Mikey? The person Jack is dating and never shuts up about." The guy said.
"Uh, Yea." I replied blushing.
"Nike." The dude said as we shook hands.
I gave him a confused look.
"I know. Weird name." Nike replied winking.
I laughed along with jack and him.
We chatted awhile before we left because the clouds looked like they were about to burst with whatever they had In them.
"Should we Uber?" I asked keeping Jack close.
"Nah, if it starts to rain I know a shortcut." He replied kissing my knuckles.
I chuckled.
He knows so many shortcuts.
"Besides that's the beauty of where I live. I hope it rains because then I want to show you something." Jack said as he began to run.
I was running beside him when the clouds opened up.
We were still running then stopped.
"Here we are." Jack said pulling his hoodie up so he wouldn't get his hair as wet.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"Look." Jack pointed.
I looked and saw the reflection of a rainbow upon the lake.
I was awestruck
"Ireland is truly amazing." I said.
"It is." Jack replied.
I looked at him and in his eyes.
His eyes were really green today, like the color of an emerald.
"I love you so much." I said hugging him.
"I love you too Mikey. I really do." Jack replied kissing me and we just watched as the rain hit the lake then it soon was done and a rainbow came out.
