A Storm of Legendaries

PROLOUGE

"Gemma, bet you can't beat me to the swing set!" Aleksi yelled.

"It's on!" Gemma laughed.

Nuvema Town was on the outskirts of Unova. Aleksi loved it there. School was great. She had lots of friends. And Gemma was the best babysitter around

"Ha! I win!" Aleksi yelled.

"Man, are you fast! Hey! It's getting late. Run home. I'll see you tomorrow!"

"OK! Bye Gemma!" Aleksi sprinted towards the woods. She was about to head out when screams and explosions peppered her ears.

"What's going on out there!?" Aleksi screamed. She hid behind a bush. Screams and explosions filled the air. Sometimes the yells of Pokémon pierced the thickness.

An hour later, there was a thick silence. Aleksi ran out of the woods only to stop and stare in horror.

Houses were burning. Craters littered the ground.

But that wasn't what horrifed Aleksi the most.

The limp bodies of Pokémon and people were scattered here and there. She slowly stepped through the carnage in horror.

Then a pair of bodies set her off sobbing.

Whoever had done this had murdered her parents. She ran the other way, only to see the body of her best friend Ella and her Cubchoo. Aleksi ran toward the harbor and sat on the pier, sobbing. Obviously she was the only one who escaped alive.

That is, until a nose nudged her arm. Aleksi turned around and gasped.

A beautiful Umbreon with yellow eyes and blue rings stared down at her.

"You escaped too, huh?" Aleksi sniffed.

"Umbree."

All of a sudden, a man stepped out of the smoke and started walking towards Aleksi. The Umbreon leaped in front of her.

"Umbreon!"

"Stand down. Aleksi, I am your uncle. I must take you to Vaniville Town. It is not safe here."

"But... Fine." Aleksi mumbled. "But only if you let this Umbreon come too."

"Very well. Come." The man walked toward another pier, where a ship was docked.

Aleksi took one last look at the destroyed Nuvema Town.

"Good-bye mom and dad. Bye Ella and Cubchoo and Gemma. Be happy in the realm of the legendaries." Aleksi said, then ran after the man with the Umbreon right behind her.

She never looked back, and vowed never to return.
