Chapter 12: Rock-Type Gym Leaders Can be Very Strange
                              >Aleksi<
"Look at this!" I gasped, turning the badge around to show him the back.
I had examimed rhe badge, and on the back was a carving of an shield with a PokéBall on it. 2 crossed swords were behind it, and a ribbon curled between the swords.
I sure didn't know what it was, but Grant seemed to know, because his gaze darkened.
                              "You 2. Follow me."

Grant took us to his personal room in the back of the gym. The place was really brightly lit up.
And the walls, mind you, were climbing walls.
There was a corner with a stack of boxes, a couple of plush chairs, a beanbag, a video phone, and a TV.
Soleil immediately collapsed in a chair. Dusk and I claimed the beanbag. The only way to get here was to climb walls.
I think Grant is obsessed with wall climbing.
"Anyways, Grant, what do you know about this symbol?" I demanded.
"You see, this is the symbol of the Trainers of Justice. The badge it is carved into is a sign of great danger, depending on what region the badge comes from. Viola must have issued the badge to a trainer she found worthy of helping us."
"And Latios and Latias?" Soleil retorted.
"All I know is that Tate & Liza from Mossdeep City in Hoenn encountered them while training, and they're good friends." Grant said.
"So, about this... symbol thingie." I interrupted.
"Yes. Not only is this badge given to trainers that can help us in our duties, it can be used as a sort of... call for help."
                              "How?"
"We are all closely aqquantinced with the other Pokémon Leagues, but we have better connections with the trainers that specialize in the type we train. Viola must have sent it somehow to the other Bug-Type specalists in the other regions, and they got the message to Hoenn."
"So then, what's happening in Kalos that the other regions need to be involved?"
"I presume you've heard about the strange happ-"
                              BBBBBRRRRRRIIIIINNNNNGGGGG
The screen on the videophone flickered, and 4 faces appeared on the screen.
"GRANT!!!! I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF YOU FOR THE PAST HOUR!!!!! ARE YOUR EARS STUFFED WITH COTTON!?!?" The girl screamed.
"Probably." One of the boys said.
The girl was in her late 20s, with dark brown hair in 2 pigtails that looped then hung down. She was wearing a dark gray dress and a red scarf, and she was glaring at the screen.
One of the boys had brown spiky hair and squinty eyes. He had on a simple orange shirt, green pants, and sneakers. He was about the same age as the girl.
The other boy was also around the same age as the girl. He had red hair, glasses, and a mining outfit. He was also carrying a pickaxe.
The final person was older than the other 3. He had brown hair, a black cape, a white shirt, and pants that had the same design as the boy with the mining outfit. He had a shovel.
"I had a challenger. What's going on, Roxanne?" Grant groaned, swiveling his chair over. Soleil and I walked over.
"You've got a couple of tagalongs." The boy with the pickaxe said, swinging the pickaxe around.
"Oh, them? They were the challengers, at least, one of them. And, you need to stop doing that while calling me on your videophone in the mines. I swear one day, that thing is going to break it to bits."
"You win, or lose?" the boy with spiky hair asked.
                              "Lost, unfortunantely."
"Har! I betcha I could've beat them with my eyes closed!" The man exclaimed.
"Dad..." the boy with the pickaxe groaned.
"Um, who are they?" I interrupted a growing argument.
"I'm Roxanne, Gym Leader of Rustboro City. The guy with the spiky hair is Brock, Gym Leader of Pewter City, pickaxe boy is Roark, leader of Oreburg City, and shovel guy is his dad, Byron of the Canalave City gym." The girl-Roxanne-said.
"Aaaaand they're going on about fossils again." Brock pointed out.
                              "Oh, great Arceus..." Grant muttered.
                              "I love fossils more!!!!!" Byron.
                              "No, I do!!!!!" Roark.
                              "No, I DO!!!!!"
                              "I DO!!!!!"
                              "NO, ME!!!!!"
                              "NO, ME!!!!!"
"SHUT UP!! WE'RE GETTING OFF TRACK HERE!!! ROARK, BYRON, YOU BOTH LIKE FOSSILS!!! WE GET IT!!! NOW, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANYTHING ELSE OR CAN WE GET BACK ON THE SUBJECT NOW!?!?!?" Roxanne screamed.
"OK... Hey, where's Steven?" Brock asked, sitting back up.
"He left to meet up with the Hoenn Trainers of Justice deployed in Kalos. They had something to report about some Pokémon Hunters." Roxanne grumbled.
"Pokémon Hunters!?!?" Soleil and I yelled.
"Do you know something!?" Roxanne demanded.
                              "Yeah! A few days ago..."

I may have exaggerated this a bit.
However, this is kind of in the future, and things change in the future sometimes.
