Chapter 30: Flashback: Part 1
"YAAAWN. How come my brothers get to sleep in while I have to do patrol!?" Chili grumbled.
"Because you just got bad luck!" Maylenne yelled back.
"Focus, guys!" Candice barked. "We can't spend all of our time just goofing off like idi- THORNTON WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING!?"
"Hmm? The composition of the rocks and crystals in the walls is very interesting. I wonder what Pokémon live here."
"If you wanna know that, ask Grant, the rockhead, not me." Valerie replied nonchalantly.
"THORNTON, YOU HAVE TO KEEP UP YOUR FOCUS! FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!!!!" Candice yelled.
"Hahaha!! Thornton, being told off by a girl!?" Palmer chortled.
"LOOK, IF I WANTED TO, I WOULD SOCK YOUR FACE IN, PALMER!!" Thornton roared.
"Ah... Let's settle down, shall we? Right, Misty?" Lorelei interrupted hastily, shoving the 2 of them apart.
"Uh-huh. Where's Janine?" Misty asked.
"Right here. What're we supposed to be doing anyways?" Janine appeared right next to Misty.
"AUGH!! Janine, quit that!"
"Quit what? Breathing?"
"Make some noise when you move, for gods sake! Stop being so ninja all the time!" Misty yelled.
"But I AM a ninja!!" Janine yelled back.
"SHH!!" Cynthia snapped.
Everyone instantly stopped yelling.
"Where's Liza?" Tate interrupted.
"Oh gods... Palmer, Thornton, Chili, and Tate, take the left path. Misty, Janine, and Lorelei, right. Maylenne, Candice, Valerie, and I will go straight forwards. We'll meet in the main cave when we get there." Cynthia commanded.
"Aye, aye, captain!!" Palmer yelled sarcastically.
"Like father, like son..." Maylenne murmured, obviously referring to the time the Sinnoh Trio went to her gym.
"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that. Tate, Thornton, off we go!" Palmer marched down the left tunnel.
"Uhh..." Tate stammered.
"Ugh..." Thornton groaned.
"Ah..." Chili ran after him, with a grumpy Thornton and perplexed Tate behind him.
Misty, Janine, and Lorelei raced down the right-hand path.
"Well, I guess we should get going?" Valerie suggested.
"Yep." Maylenne said.

"Are we all here?" Cynthia asked.
"Yep. And, we managed to find Liza." Tate yelled.
"We're here too." Lorelei said.
"Good. This time, there doesn't seem to be any Team Flare members." Cynthia said.
"That's wierd." Palmer replied.
Then-
"I THINK-" Tate began.
"YOU SPOKE-" Liza interjected.
"TOO EARLY!!" Both of them finished.
Typical.
"What do you mea... Holy heck." Cynthia finished.
The entrance the the main part of the cave was jammed with Team Flare members.
