Chapter 15: Birthday

   It had been a few weeks since I'd last seen Penny. I suspect he is out hunting, I had no idea how long it took for him to feed. Today was actually my birthday, "21, wow." I thought to myself as I laid in bed. Not that 21 was old but it was starting to hit me that I really am, in fact, an adult. In the middle of my epiphany I heard the familiar sounds of bells chiming. I sat up as Penny emerged from the corner of my room once again. I smiled at him.
"Hi" I said.
"Hello love." He replied.
He called me love? I thought, giddy inside.
He glanced down at my floor, seeing the gift boxes and party hat Margaret gave to me at the birthday party she set up earlier that night.
"It's my birthday" I said, answering any questions he might have had.
I didn't know if he knew what birthdays were, I mean sure, he knew how to make a girl orgasm but I didn't know if he celebrated birthdays. Even though he did give me a red birthday balloon a month ago that is still tied to my bed rail...
He nodded in understanding.
"Happy Birthday" he replied in a low tone.
"Thanks."
For the next half hour or so Penny and I just talked. He sat at the edge of my bed, looking uncomfortable at first but quickly relaxing, as much as he could anyway.
He said he had a good feeding and he didn't go after children this time, he ended up eating some "bad man" that deserved it. I just nodded.
"I missed you" I admitted.
Waiting for a response I began to regret saying that, was it too much?
"I missed you as well." He finally replied.
I exhaled and gave him a slight grin.
I yawned feeling sleepy, he told me to lay down.
"I'll wait for you to sleep before I leave. No one will get to you." He said in his low tone.
I just chuckled, glad to have his company and giddy he wanted to protect me.
