I had just gotten back from class, opening my door when a sense of danger immediately hit me. I stopped, taking a second to examine my surroundings. Nothing was there, my room was exactly the way I left it. I closed the door, putting my backpack on the bed and unzipped it, pulling out my books. I went to grab the zipper of my raincoat and take it off when pop! made me stop. I turned to see the once red balloon that floated over my bed rail was now on the floor in pieces. Blood started pouring out of it, getting onto my shoes. I gasped, knowing what that meant.

I bolted out my dorm room, down the hall and outside. The ground was slippery but I ran anyway. I made it to Neilbolt Street, calling out for Penny but there was no answer. I ran up the stairs, checking every room, but he was nowhere. Downstairs, I thought, my feet running faster than I ever knew they could. I made my over to the well when the force began to pull me, I hadn't felt it so long I forgot strong it was. I looked around trying to find something that could help. Sitting in the corner of the room was a rope, I grabbed it, tying it to one of the large open beams and threw it down. I climbed over the rock wall, grabbing the rope. I started scaling down, my heart racing. I finally reached a ledge and I let go, falling into water. I ran through the pipe, trying to follow the pull. It felt like I had been running for hours when I finally reached the place again. I looked up to see the pile of children's toy slowly falling apart. I called out for Penny and I heard a low grunt off to my left. I ran over, finally seeing his body laying on the ground. As soon as I reached him I fell to my knees and the tears began flowing.
"Penny, I don't want you to go." I cried.
"I can't stay." He said, voice raspy.
"I know.." I grabbed his hand.
He looked up at me, eyes now a deep blue, "oh that red raincoat" he said with a grin.
I laughed, tears streaming down my face.
"I'll be back. I'll come back to you." He said.
"I'll wait for you." I said, giving him a kiss on the forehead.
"You're going to a great Mom."
Those were the last words he said to me.
He let go of my hand and his body flung back into the well that was behind us. I looked over the edge to see him holding on, his face beginning to wither away, "I love you" he said, before he let go.

*i know this was sudden but it had to happen I'm sorry!*
