My eyes open to see the fan on the ceiling slowly turning. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful as I laid there, not moving a muscle. I let out a sigh as my eyes followed the fans blade around in circles. I was brought out of my trance by a little sound coming from another room. I sat up, the blanket falling to my around my waist. I knew this room, but it was different. The walls were painted a subtle white and the lighting was dim. I moved and touched my feet to the floor, feeling a soft carpet. I made my way out of the room, looking for the soft sounds I had been hearing. The rest of the house was bathed in the same soft light and the walls glistened. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a banister and the top of a staircase. I know that staircase... I made my way over, looking over the banister down to a clean, perfect kitchen. I stared in awe as the feeling of joy came over me. It was Neibolt Street. It was the house.
I heard another sound come from a room behind me and I decided to follow it. Everything seemed to be moving so slow, yet so fast. I came up to a closed door and reached for the handle. The door opened and my eyes were met with a tall figure standing in the middle of the room, next to a crib. I slowly walked over, standing behind the figure, just waiting.
Suddenly it turned around, revealing Penny. Not only was it Penny, but he was holding a baby, our baby. His blue eyes sparkled so vividly I knew they were Robert's. His eyes met with mine and tears came to my eyes.
"He's beautiful." Penny spoke.
"Yeah." i said, tears rolling down my face.
Penny turned his head and gave Robert a soft kiss on the head.
"He looks so much like you." I said through tears.
"He has your hair." he said, looking over to me.
"He has your eyes." i said back.
We looked at each other for a moment, then back down at Robert. I walked closer to him, resting my head on his arm. I was so calm and so full of happiness in this moment, I didn't want it to end.
"I love you." Penny said, looking down at me.
"I love you." I said back as more tears fell down my face.
