Penny was no longer sitting at the end of my bed when I woke up this morning which I was expecting. Thinking back to last night I got a few butterflies in my stomach remembering when he said he would protect me and wait for me to fall asleep so I wouldn't be alone.
I was out for lunch with Margaret at one of our favourite coffee shops. She was telling me all about what her and Matt have been up to so far this summer.
"He's just the best" she said sighing, shaking her head. "How are you holding up?"
I looked up from my coffee at her, "About what?"
Her eyebrows furrowed together, "Harry... or I'm sorry, do you not want to talk about it?"
"Oh-" I exclaimed, "No it's okay, i'm fine. He hasn't called, but I was never expecting him to cause he's busy and I don't even know if they have long distance telephones in France."
"Very true, well i'm glad you're okay" she said smiling.
We finished our lunch and decided to take a walk. Margaret began to talk about Matt again and I just shook my head, half listening.
I parted ways with Margaret and walked into my dorm room. To my surprise Penny was standing, looking outside my window.
"Oh hi." I said shocked to see him.
"Hello" he said in his low, sultry voice.
"W-what are you doing here?" I asked, honestly a bit concerned.
"I wanted to see you." he said looking down at the Styrofoam box I held in my hand.
"I was out to lunch, were you waiting long?" I asked, walking over to my bed, placing my bag and the box down and taking off my jacket.
"No, I knew you were out." he said.
"Stalking me again?" I asked in a joking tone.
"I wanted to make sure you were safe." he said in a serious tone, obviously not taking the joke.
"I was joking, it's okay." I said turning back around, away from him.
"This is for you." he said, making me turn around.
As soon as I looked at him he bent down, holding out something in his large hand.
He lifted his head to look at me, "take it." He told me.
I looked at his hand, finally noticing what he was holding. It was the music box, the same one I tripped over on my run a month ago. I took it, shocked.
He stood back up, adjusting his suit.
I didn't know what to say, I just looked at the music box in disbelief.
"Do you like it?" he asked with a low tone, almost sounding disappointed.
I looked back up at him, his eyes were huge and that striking blue that I loved. I pulled him down by the collar of suit and kissed him.
We separated from the kiss and I smiled, "I love it."
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, I turned around, panicking.
"Shit" I said under my breath.
I turned back around and Penny was gone.
I placed the music box on my bed and opened the door. Margaret stood on the other side, her arms crossed.
"Who were you talking to?" she asked, squinting at me.
"I wasn't talking to anyone." I said, pretty convincingly I must say.
She glared at me but then dropped the subject.
"I know were just went to lunch at you're probably sick of me-" she stopped, winking. "But Matt, Fran, Stacy and I are going out tonight, you should come with us."
"I don't know" I said, looking away, trying to think of an excuse.
"Come on (Y/N), you've been stuck in this room all summer, just come out for one night. " she said, leaning against the door frame.
I sighed, "okay, okay i'll go"
"Yay, okay we're planning on leaving at around 9, Matt and I will come by to pick you up." she said excitedly.
I picked out an outfit, not anything too sexy but a little something. Margaret was right, I deserved to have a good time.
