I sat on my floor, my head between my knees. I had stopped crying, I couldn't cry anymore. I was emotionally drained. Then I heard them, the bells. The slight jingle of the bells on his suit. I didn't look up, I didn't look at him. He bent down, kneeling on the floor in front of me. Then, he hugged me. He wrapped his large arms around me and all I felt was comfort. I kept my arms crossed over stomach and rested my head on his shoulder. It was a serene moment, a strange but wonderful moment of just us. We'd never experienced this together. It's always been lust or anger.
"I'm so sorry," I whispered.
"No, (Y/N) doesn't need to be sorry." He said in my ear.
"I'm such an awful girlfriend..." I realized what I said. Girlfriend. We never labeled each other, I hadn't even thought about it and I'm sure Penny hadn't either.
"I saw what happened... with the guys.. that came into the house. I'm sorry" I said covering my face with my hands. "It was a lot."
"It's what I had to do." He said.
"You ate him." I said, more as a statement than I question.I knew the answer, he didn't have to say it. We sat in silence for a moment.
"Can you tell me more... about who you are?" I asked desperately.
He shifted, now sitting in front of me with long legs outstretched to either side of me.
"Alright."
