It had once again been a few weeks and I was now completely healed. I had missed my finals due to my injury but I was able to take them late and actually got a pretty good mark. The professors may have been slack on me since they all knew what I had gone through, but I'll take it.
I was leaving the bookstore in town, it was a beautiful July day and I had just picked up a new book to read. As I was walking along the street a sudden urgent feeling came over me. I couldn't understand or explain it but it was like something was pulling me. I couldn't help but follow it, it was like it had control over my feet. The feeling finally released me and I realized I was standing in front of an old, run down rickety house. Neibolt St. "Why was I here?" The feeling came over me once again and I walked inside. The place was covered in cobwebs and smelt awful. It was also freezing, I crossed my arms over my chest, hoping it would help. Of course it didn't. I just stood at the entrance, not sure what to do or what to think. The door slammed behind me and I jumped, letting out a slight scream."Shh" I heard the familiar voice say as he came out of the shadows to stand in front of me.
I let out a sigh and watched him closely, "what am I doing here?"
"You ask a lot of question." His voice was deeper this time, not so whimsical.
"Cause I'm not getting answers" I shot back.
His face turned blank and his eyes started to glow. He rushes over to me, grabbing my chin, lifting my face to meet my eyes with his.
"You sure are brave my dear aren't you?"
I fell silent, not sure what to say when I was this close to his face. He was hauntingly beautiful...
I saw his face grow softer and he stepped away from me. There was a silence between us, unlike any we've had. His back was facing me so I couldn't see his face."Who are you?" I asked him.
He turned around, looking over his shoulder.
"I know another question." I said trying to 'lighten' the mood.
"I'm Pennywise" he said again.
I decided to just stop talking. It wasn't getting me anywhere. Maybe he'd show me why I was led here.
He rushed off down one of the hallways of the house, leaving me standing awkwardly. I wasn't going to move, I didn't want to upset Pennywise and this place freaked me out. He returned, towering over me, he then very quickly bowed, handing me a red balloon he has pulled from behind his back. I was hesitant to take it.
"For you" he said.
I took the string of the balloon and he smiled. Almost a genuine smile.
"Red is your colour" he said.
He then walked back down hallway, leaving me there.
"Penny?" I called.
No response. I then turned around and left, balloon still in hand. Penny? Where did that come from?
