Little one has grown up fast
Time to step away from past
Time to take first adult step
Take a risk of first misstep
Grandma, I'm afraid to leave
How do I walk worldly weave
Scared that I'll mess up my life
Help me to reduce my strife
World can be a scary place
Must learn how to set your pace
Stop and learn before you chase
Create your own safety base
'No,' a word to not forget
Use it when you feel a threat
'Yes,' a word to use with care
Only use when all feels fair
Embrace that you'll make mistakes
Have to work through failure quake
Baby steps were your first walk
Take small steps, take time to talk
When confused then slow life down
Take time to erase your frown
When next step is made with smile
Confidence will be your style
When your life feels in a bind
Take some time to ease your mind
Time alone can help you mend
Review life goals, don't feel penned
Changes are a part of life
Sometimes need a mental knife
Cut out stuff that leaves you stressed
Take these steps to meet your quest
Don't forget to have some fun
Take a walk out in the sun
Share your thoughts about this life
Friendly banter eases strife
Don't forget that I love you
Might not like the things you do
Your mistakes don't change love's view
Always, I will love you through
