Most days I like nature
Sky, flowers, birds and trees
But there are occasions
When nature does not please
Nights of soaking rains pass
Weeds rocket from wet ground
Wish deer would eat green weeds
Ignore my flower mound
Pollen count is rising
My itchy eyes are red
And my nose is stuffy
A sleepless night in bed
Then I step in dog poo
And I don't own a dog
Today I'm late for work
Trip slow through heavy fog
Through dark night brown rabbits
Browse all through my garden
Lettuce leaves are missing
Cozy feelings harden
Blackberries in my fridge
Turn white from fuzzy mold
Annoyed that tiny spores
Grew in a place so cold
Most days I like nature
But some days I concede
Nature tries my patience
Must swallow bitter weed
But nature has a way
To bring balance around
Sit still, watch and listen
There's beauty to be found
