Steps of Grace

Grant me the grace today

To find hope as I sway

With first steps in dawn's light

Find balance and clear sight

Help me to watch my tongue

When critic's words have sprung

Let words of kindness flow

And spark a hope that grows

Help me find a new road

That lightens someone's load

See eyes that hold a shriek

Listen when someone speaks

Help me to lend a hand

Bring joy to life that's bland

Share smiles and hellos

That helps a heart mellow

Help me to close this day

With hugs that quickly slay

Pain drops that still remain

Washing them down the drain

Let love fill up my heart

Pushing out hateful darts

Let love blanket my sleep

Let peace be mine to keep
