A day of forts
And winter sports
Have worn kids out
Too tired to shout
While slurping soup
Small eyelids droop
Soon sleepy heads
Retire to beds
Snowflakes battle
Windows rattle
As cold wind howls
Our brown hound growls
Come sit by fire
As flames conspire
To warn our toes
As North Wind blows
As children sleep
And snowflakes heap
We softly croon
A lover's tune
Sprawled on the floor
Two hound dogs snore
In a huddle
Kittens cuddle
And we are blessed
With night of rest
For we are warm
Despite snowstorm
