Little Guy's Summer

20 10 13

My summer pledge this year

    is someone very dear

Little Guy here at dawn

stays 'til the day near gone

Read silly story books

Sketch drawings in notebooks

A trip to local park

to swing in a big arc

Run through cool water spray

loud squeals light up my day

We gaze into the sky

    hearing a jet fly by

Create a toy zip line

    using five feet of twine

Balloons never grow old

    new games quickly unfold

Block towers built for me

    beside a pretend sea

Yarn and two plastic cups

    make a fine phone setup

See a doe with fawn

    browsing at edge of lawn

Discuss a movie plot

that makes us laugh a lot

Ice cream stuck on his nose

    creates a silly pose

And nothing quite compares

    to bubbles in the air

How do I fill my days

    after ten weeks of play?
