Sunset's Light

22 10 13

Just a moment ago

I asked a sign be sent

To validate my choice

My writing? Time well spent?

Compelled to step outside

And catch warm morning breeze

Surprised at sunset glow

Attention quickly seized

Sunset through bare trees

A wonder to behold

Light beams into my heart

White orb encased in gold

Swiftly snap a picture

Light play through tall bare trees

Then sit upon a chair

Listen to bird song pleas

Enchanted are my eyes

At such a simple scene

Succor to troubled heart

View pumps in hope serene

Heart soaks up evening rays

Chest burns with glowing light

Retrieve a pen and pad

And write into dark night
