An Algee Smith imagine.
Y/N walked to her locker as she put her earphones into her ears. She was in her senior year of high school, the most stressful one to date. All she wanted was to go home.
Y/N wasn't very popular but she knew a lot of people because she was 'low key poppin', as she would describe herself.
While jamming to Drake's Nice for What, she put the books she didn't need into her locker, slightly banging it closed after she was done.
She got the biggest fright of her life as she saw a face she despised. He was clearly hiding behind her open locker door. How could she not have seen his legs.
"Damn it Algee!" She said as she took one of her earphones out.
"Hey beautiful." He said as he smiled while leaning on the lockers.
Algee Smith, South Side High's golden boy. He was on the A team for football, good looking, could get any girl he wanted and wasn't all that bad in his academics. What more could a girl want?
Everyone wanted to associate with him, all the girls wanted him. Well, except for Y/N. She despised his short ass, even though he was kinda taller than her, she still regarded him as a midget.
"What do you want?" She said, slightly getting irritated.
He leaned down towards her lips, attempting to kiss her. Instead of doing the same, she curved him.
"Damn ma, I don't even get a 'How was your day' or 'your cologne is fresh'?" He said as he let out a deep chuckle.
"How about you ask one of your girls for all those compliments, there's a different one for every day of the week anyway." Y/N replied as she put her earphones into her backpack, seeing that this guy wasn't about to let her leave anytime soon.
"What have I ever done to you? Why don't you like me?" Algee asked once again, licking his lips, tryna make her feel some typa way.
"I could write a whole essay about that and I'll still have more to say. 1. You think you can get any girl you want. 2.You cocky as hell. 3. You're annoying. 4. All of the above. What do you want Algee?" She sassily said.
After all the mean things Y/N managed to say, Algee still smiled, while maintaining that sly smirk on his face. She just wanted to slap it off his sculpted face.
"Just two minutes of your time. Please?" He begged as he tugged on his light chin hairs.
"Your time starts now," Y/N said while looking down on her phone.
She wasn't playing no games. She wasn't even playing "hard to get". She just had enough on her plate; already school was a pain and she didn't need Golden Boy to attract attention.
All Algee wanted to do right now was to slam her on these stupid lockers and kiss this girl, but he controlled himself. This one was different and worth chasing after, if that's what it took.
"Alright, I ain't gon' ask for much, just meet me in the theatre after school. I promise, if you're not convinced after this, I'll leave you alone. Deal?" He said in a much convincing tone.
She contemplated whether to believe him or not. After a few seconds of going over the pros and cons in her head...
"Fine. If I still don't like you after this, leave me the hell alone!" She replied in a much threatening tone... or at least she thought.
"It's so attractive when you try to be angry. You better get used to me, cause I ain't that easy to get rid of. See ya later ma." He said with a hearty chuckle, followed by a kiss on Y/N's cheek.
Part of her wanted to punch him where the sun didn't shine, and another part... kinda liked him. A bit.

School went by pretty fast and it was time for Y/N to see what Algee has up his sleeve this time.
After going to her locker, she walked into the theatre, which seemed quiet at this time of the afternoon.
"Algee? Hello?" She slightly yelled, only to receive no response.
As she walked closer, each spot light shun on her, leading her to the front seat.
"Listen to me now now, now now,
Take a breath and slow down, slow down
We're running over same ground, same ground
(Oh yeah, yeah)
Everything I'm saying,
Girl I mean it
Is it that hard to believe it
All of this second guessing, when I've got nothing to hide
What's the point of the talking, if there's no change in your mind
You counting up all the questions, you never seem satisfied
How many times do I tell you, girl
Only got you on my mind."
There was a beautiful orchestra playing in the background. Y/N was in awe with all of this. All along, her mouth hung low. She didn't know Midget could sing.. she liked it, a lot.
After he sang, he came down the staircase, reaching for Y/N's hand.
"So? What do you say?" He happily asked with satisfaction written all over his face.
"Algee I- I" She stuttered as she began feeling bad about the real reason she's been so mean to him.
"Look, I know I come off as a jerk, a conceited guy who just plays girls but honestly, it's not like that. I've liked you for a while and I only messed around with other girls because I thought it would grab your attention. Hat clearly wasn't the way to go. Look Y/N, all the saying is... I've been feeling you for the longest and seeing you really makes my day. Will you please finally give a nigga a chance and be my girl?" He asked as he went down on one knee with a rose in his hand.
"No."
Algee's lower lip dropped to the bottom of the earth. His heart began beating a mile a minute.
"What?"
"Jokes. It's a yes." She said as he stood up, sighing out of relief.
"I though I was gone die right then and there. Damn it girl!" He said.
They shared a laugh and he pulled her in for a sweet one on the lips. The now revealed crowd went wild, cheering and chanting.
"Mrs Golden Boy. She said yes!" Algee yelled as he intertwined his fingers with hers.
