A Michael Rainey Jr. imagine.

OMNISCIENT.
"I'm sorry..." he said.
As usual, always sorry, always apologizing but never meaning it. Y/N tried her hardest to stop her crying after catching her boyfriend Khalil making out with some girl.
They were at a house party and things got a bit messy as they both parted ways to their separate group of friends. Khalil ended up playing spin the bottle with his friends and a bunch of other people while Y/N did what loyal people did at parties. Hang out with friends and actually party.
"You were all over her, Khalil." She said as she wiped her tears. He would casually place his hand on her thigh to comfort her but she'd shudder each time.
"I was drunk."
"That's no excuse. I'm a lil drunk too but did I throw myself at another guy? No. It would've been a different story if I did what you did." She spoke fast.
"So... what do you wanna do?" He asked with low eyes.
They were a bit far from the crowd outside, yet still managed to earn a few stares. Others were inside the mansion, while others hung around the pool, smoking, drinking and socializing.
"I don't know. I just wanna go home right now." She bluntly said, avoiding his lustful stares.
He clearly wasn't fond of the answer because if anything, he was still enjoying the party.
"I'm leaving with my friends and I know they're not your scene. I would call you an Uber but my phone is dead, so..."
Y/N's mouth slightly hung low at how careless he was being.
"It's okay. I'll call it myself." She pulled her phone out her purse.
"I'm sorry baby..." Khalil said as he placed a sloppy kiss on her cheek, reeking of alcohol.
As fine as he looked, all the feelings Y/N had for him went flying out the window at that moment. He stood up and walked off as she cried again. Her head hung low as she tried being as quiet as possible.
Amongst the people that were glancing at them was Michael. He had been chilling with his friends and smoking but his eyes would wander off to Y/N. He popped some gum into his mouth, preparing to walk over to her.
Besides the pool lights and the lights flashing from the mansion, it was pretty dark. He sat beside her.
"Hey... are you okay?"
Y/N looked up, feeling a bit frightened and quickly wiped her tears.
He slicked her low bun a bit more as she sniffled. "Yeah... I'm fine."
He turned to fully face her. "I kinda saw everything... did he hurt you?"
She smiled while shaking her head in disbelief. "You could say that."
"You want me to get anything-"
"I... kinda just want to be alone, so..." she said, emphasizing on him to leave.
"I promise it'll feel better if you talk about it. Only if you want to though." He said.
She smiled a bit, finally looking at him. He just had this calm, relaxed look, almost like a smirk. He looked all over her face, from her lips, to her reddish-pink nose to the tear that unexpectedly fell.
He caught it with his thumb, making Y/N look away afterwards. "I'm Michael, by the way."
"Y/N."
"Your name's just as beautiful as your face." He genuinely said, but Y/N couldn't help but laugh.
"So corny." She said as he laughed along.
"At least I made you smile." He said, as her smile awkwardly faded.
"You wanna get outta here?" He suggested.
She didn't even know what was to happen but she didn't care.
"Yeah."

The two ended up at a bowling alley. He first offered to take her home but she said her parents would kill her if she came back reeking of alcohol so Michael suggested they go bowling.
They got out of his car and walked into the alley. He opened the door and held her back as she walked in first. Usually she'd cringe at a male besides her boyfriend holding her like that but this time it felt... different.
"You know, I've never really been bowling before..." she confessed, expecting him to laugh or something.
"Word ?" He surprisingly said. "Lucky for you, you're with a pro. I'll teach you." He said.
She smiled at him as he did the same. She offered to pay for the shoes but he rejected her offer.
They got the shoes and went to their designated lane. He did the honors and started, knocking all the pins down. Y/N clapped for him, being her normal cheerful self.
"Your turn." He smiled, pulling her up from the chair.
"Are you sure you don't wanna take my turns? I probably suck." She chuckled.
"No," he picked a ball for her. "You're learning. I said I gotchu, trust." He said.
He placed the ball in her hands and stood behind her to help her position it nicely onto her fingers. She felt his minty breath tickle her as he instructed and couldn't help but blush.
"I'm pretty sure your girlfriend won't be happy about this..." she said, making him chuckle.
"What makes you think I have a girlfriend?" He questioned.
"Everything." She said as she continued aiming for the pins.
"Well... I don't." He admitted. He couldn't stop smiling himself.
He stepped aside for Y/N to bowl. She watched the ball roll and hit nearly all the pins, missing one.
She jumped in excitement, doing a little dance before hugging him.
"See? I told you!" He said.
They slowly broke the hug and obviously... they ended up kissing. They were both so in the moment and it was when she started feeling all kinds of butterflies that she realized she needed to stop.
"Wait... I didn't break up with my boyfriend."
