A Quincy Brown imagine.

~
Talking to Y/N about love was like talking to a wall. She totally had her guard up and didn't open up easily to anyone, not even her sister, for that matter. This was all because of a bad breakup that completely adjusted her mindset about the dating world and love in general.

She thought it no longer existed, and wanted nothing to do with that other gender.

"So... what do you think about blind dates?" Her older sister Gallagher questioned as if she had something up her sleeve.

Y/N looked up from the Mac and cheese she had been stirring, facing her sister, who was cutting up some cocktail tomatoes to put into the salad. The look she gave her was one Gallagher knew all too well.

"...what about it?" Y/N simply shrugged.

With so much flare, Gallagher dried her hands up and looked her younger sister. "Come on, wouldn't you wanna go on one? I know I would."

It never ceased to amaze Y/N how dramatic her sister was. "Well then blindfold Derek and go on a date with him again."

"Y/N, I am married. I already got mines. And besides, you are such a great cook," she glared at all the good food that had been made. "Don't you want a significant other to cook for?" She continued, making Y/N scrunch her face up even more.

"No," she replied with a little bit of confusion. "I can finish all this food by myself."

"No doubt about that, your fat ass can eat a whole cow. But seriously sis, ever since your breakup—"

"Don't." She warned. "I'm good, I don't need a man to make me happy. I be holding myself down."

"Yeah, boring..." Gallagher rolled her eyes. "I think you should give it a try."

By now, Y/N had her arms folded and her eyebrows scrunched, trying to figure out what exactly her older sister had going on.

"Why should I take dating advice from someone who's been out of the game for centuries," she teased, earning a hard shove on her shoulder. "Or someone named Gallagher, for that matter."

Now Gallagher had pulled a face at her with her hand on her hip, getting ready to school her younger sister. "Okay, first off, I'm just trying to help your sour ass because life goes on and so should you. Secondly, I think my name is pretty phenomenal. Not basic at all, thank you."

"Okay, bye. Get the plates so we can eat."

Seeing that Y/N wasn't giving in at all, Gallagher decided to try sweetening the deal. "Okay, okay. Pleaassseee just try this out. There's this really nice guy I've been eyeing for you and I think you'd like him. Just a blind date, if you don't like him, it wouldn't matter because you won't know what he looks like," she went on.

"I'm not saying I want to, but why a blind date? Shit is weird."

"He's here! He's here!" Gallagher squealed in excitement as she brought the blindfold closer to Y/N's face.

Yes, she eventually decided to give it a try. It couldn't hurt to try. She was still uneasy about it, but it was one of those few risks she decided to take. She calmly popped some gum in her mouth as Gallagher blindfolded her.

"He's already seated, let's go!" She replied. It puzzled Y/N how excited her sister was, as if it were her date.

Gallagher gently guided Y/N to her chair, sitting her down.

"Okay, she's here. Y'all let me know when you're done, and no peeking. Enjoy kids!" She joyfully giggled before walking out.

Her voice, with another male's was still audible, meaning they were keeping an eye on the potentials.

Y/N was already drawn to the man's scent. It was sweet and calming, something like cocoa butter and vanilla, all tied up with a strong cologne. Heaven to her nostrils.

"Hi," he said with a small smile.

As if she knew he was smiling, Y/N smiled too. "Hey."

"I'm Quincy." He said, his smile never disappearing.

"I'm Y/N." She replied.

It went silent for a few seconds, clearly from both of them being a little nervous.

"This is awkward huh?"

"Totally. But we're already here so might as well make the most of it... so tell me a little about yourself." Y/N chuckled.

"You're right. Okay, I'm Quincy Brown, I'm 28 years old, come from a huge family and uh, I'm an artist." He nodded simply.

"Wow. I'm Y/N McGuire. 25 and I am a Law graduate, currently doing my internships. I have an older sister, annoying as hell and her name Gallagher," she smacked her lips, causing Quincy to laugh a little on one hand and Gallagher to roll her eyes on the other.

"And that's about it." She laughed along.

"Wow, beauty and brains. I dig." He smiled.

"Beauty? What makes you think I'm beautiful? I could look like Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb," she said as he laughed hard. "Or Edna from The Incredibles..."

"Nah, I highly doubt it. There's just this aura you have that radiates beauty. Both physical and internally."

Y/N was in awe, and quite flattered actually. "Thank you, Quincy from a huge family." She smiled.

"So what do you think I look like? Just based off the way I speak." Quincy sat forward in his chair, as if he could see her. He was trying his hardest not to snatch the blindfold off.

Y/N instantly got butterflies. "Well... I think you're tallish, with a big smile that lights the room up, that's evident in the way you laugh—"

"Ooouuu, aren't you observant," he chuckled.

"And this has nothing to do with how you look but you smell really good." She confessed as they laughed.

"So..." Gallagher said in the car, on their way home.

Y/N looked her with low, yet star struck eyes. "So..."

"Don't give me that Y/N, how'd you find him?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

"I kinda wanna see him now. He's such a beautiful soul." She cooed as Gallagher smirked.

"I thought you said my idea was dumb." She teased.

"Okay, you win this time Gallagher. Just give me his number, I really wanna see him," Y/N whined.

Perhaps this was the start of something great. 🌟
