Matilda had never got ready so quick. She threw on some leggings and a random shirt, a hoodie hiding it. She rushed out, texting Liza instead of waking her again.

Matilda ran and ran and ran. She didn't stop until she got to a taxi, and she jumped in. She threw some money at the driver, telling him to get to the hospital as quickly as possible. During the ride, she took out her phone and texted Sam, hoping he'd see her message.

'I'm coming to the hospital. Are you in the waiting room?'

Almost instantly, she got a reply. It was as if he was waiting for her to text him.

-

'Matilda, get here as soon as possible! Yes, I'm in the waiting room, no one's allowed inside mum's room.'

Sam was worried. Their father knew nothing about this, he was stuck at his work for a few days due to the overload of work.

He couldn't make it to his own wife, who is in hospital! Sam just held rage for his father. He wasn't a very good father to them anyway, which he didn't mind because he always had his mother and sister. But now his mother was in hospital, so he would only have his sister. Could he always be there for her?

Sam had been sitting in the hospital for a while. He didn't know how long, he just sat and stared at the wall with empty orbs. He didn't feel rage at this point. He didn't feel sadness. He just felt numb, what would he do without his mother? She had always looked after them as their father was a very bad father.

Would their father be sad if their mum died? Would he not care? He never did before, so he probably wouldn't now.

'If only Matilda could hurry up...' Sam thought, praying Matilda would show up soon.
