Jackson still didn't know where he was. He knew that it was somewhere accessible, because Matilda was here. And Matilda was nothing special, with no access to anywhere. They were probably still in the cafe, just with lights off.
"Jackson, look. I know I said I didn't love you, and I'm pretty sure I don't. I think the universe just messed us up, because I know you don't love me to. You just want a soulmate. You love the idea of love. Loving someone and loving the idea are two very different things." Matilda explained her thoughts, looking anywhere but Jackson. "And, in all honesty, to say I don't love you, it did hurt to see you ignoring me, and that's the part of the universe. I know it hurt you to, but that's because we're soulmates, meaning that if we do something bad to each other, like ignorance, it hurts one another. We can still be friends, but we can't date one another. We aren't made for each other."
Jackson stared at Matilda in ashtonishment. She managed to figure that out.
And, was Jackson just in love with the idea of love? He had always wanted someone to call his own, but was it just the idea of that ot him so excited? He couldn't be, he knew there was someting special about Matilda the entire time. Since day one! He couldn' just give up on everything because Matilda thought it wasn't right. That would be quitting, and Jackson was sure as hell not a quitter!
"MATILDA? ARE YOU HERE, SAM MESSAGED ME SAYING YOU WERE!" A voice, noticably Liza, echoed through whatever room they were in. Matilda visibly sighed, her eyes showing annoyance.
Matilda had obviously not noticed that Jackson had managed to untie the rope. He had to show that Matilda was wrong.
Jackson was definitely not just in love with the idea of love.
He was in love with Matilda.
