My phone slips from my hand and thumps on the carpet. Ash stands and picks up my phone. I can't move. This is all my fault.

"Sky...?" He says grabbing my chin. "Who was that?"

"I-I..we need to go to the hospital.." I finally get out. His eyes widen.

"What? Why? Are you okay?" He says grabbing my arms.

"I'm fine. But Trent..he's.." Ash burrys me in a hug.

"Get in the car." I shake my head and sprint upstairs. I knock on Josh's door.

"What now Sky?" I take a big breath and push through the door.

"Trent's in the hospital...overdose." Josh slams the computer closed and pulls his jacket on.

"Let's go, Ash can drive right?" I stop him by placing a hand on his chest.

"Why," I stutter out. "do you care?"

"Because he's my friend and yours too." He runs downstairs. I see Ash in the car. Josh jumps in the back, and I slide into the passenger seat. Ash hands me my shoes, which I forgot. I stuff my feet in and anxiously tap my fingers on the center consol. We get there in a matter of minutes. I jump out of the car and run inside.

"Hello?" The lady at the desk says calmly. "Who are you here for?"

"Trent McHenry." Her mouth curves into a frown.

"Second floor, first room." Josh and Ash come jogging in. I repeat the room number and we get into the elevator, due to the lack of stairs. Ash grabs my hand and gives it a little squeeze before I can stumble out of the elevator and into Trent's hospital room. He is layed out on a prestine white bed. His face is so grey, and sullen. I can see the black light fading. I walk over and brush my hands on his face.

"Trent...I'm so sorry. I should've helped you. I should've stayed friends. I should've..." I start to say but I turn into a blubbering mess on his chest. I can still feel small shallow breaths.

"I knew he would end up in a hospital...but not like this." Josh mumbles siting in a chair across the bed. Ash just stands behind me and puts a hand on my back. I just stay drapped over Trent until Ash pulls my limp body over and onto his lap. I curl up on him and stare at the lifeless face.

"Ash...the scariest part was that I told him to never give up, to call me if he was going to...and I know for sure that if he had called me, I wouldn't have answered." Ash doesn't respond, but he kisses my head. I'm pretty sure that is the best way he knows how to answer. After a few minutes, a nurse comes in.

"Hello? Who are you people?" She says a bit startled. I get off of Ash and walk over to her.

"I'm Skylar Monet. I was called because you couldn't get in contact with his parents. You can't because they died recently." She nods and scribbles something on her clipboard.

"Okay, well does he have any family?" I nod.

"He is staying with his aunt." I give her Ms. Melina's number. "Is there any chance...he will make it?" I say struggling to swallow the thought.

"His blood is extremely toxic, but we will have to wait and see if his body can clean it." I nod and go back to Ash.

"I need to use the restroom." He nods and I leave the room. I find a small bathroom a couple doors down. I run to a stall as my stomach jumps. I shake, my hands pulling on my hair. I hear a knock on the door.

"Sky? You okay?" I rise my mouth out and open the door. Ash is standing there, he smiles, but I can see him struggle to keep it that way. We walk back in silence. Before we get to the door I ask him something.
