The laughing creeps me out, and I run downstairs and grab a knife. Yeah yeah, I know. This is what Evan would do and all, but he isn't always wrong. I look around for anyone, just anyone, but no one is there.

"Habit? Vin? Evan?" I call.

But there's nothing but the laughter.

"Go away!" I exclaim.

I burst outside, the chilly air hitting my bare legs and feet as I rush to the cars. Both are devoid of any boys. That's when the laughter stops. I look at the house, searching for any signs of life, but coming up short.

"Habit?"

"Not even close."

I yell in shock and whirl, my knife at the ready. But there stands Observer. He grins darkly and starts to slowly walk towards me.

"Leave me alone," I say, my voice breaking.

He laughs, throwing his head back and everything.

"Nah, I think I will make you mine again. After all, you are going to be one of us."

"No I'm not," I say.

"You don't have a choice, my dear," he says.

"There's always a choice."

"Not for you, y/n."

"You just want me to get to Habit."

"Oh, we want you for so much more," Observer laughs. "So, so much more."

"Fuck off."

I turn and bolt into the woods.

Not again ...
