~ Habit's POV ~
He lunges at the nearest Dog. It's weird for him to be a woman, as he's always been a man, but he figures that he can get used to it. Walking, however, was not the easiest thing for him.
The Dog backhands him across the face and he stumbles a few inches. He lets out a demonic laugh and pulls out the Emergency Machete. He doesn't need it, but it will help in a pinch.
Habit brings his fist down on top of the head of a Dog, then kicks him in the throat before stabbing another one in the eye. He whirls around and slashes open one of them before it can do anything to hurt y/n. He guts another and turns to the remaining few.
"Wanna fucking test me?" he shouts.
They wisely leave. Jeff whistles from his perch. Habit turns to look at him and Jeff just claps once.
"Well, that was dramatic."
"You're messing with the wrong people, Jeff," Habit growls. "These people are your family."
"No, my real family is dead. Because of you."
"You have more family than you know," Habit says. "Please, you don't have to do this."
".... Yes I do."
Jeff lunges and grabs Habit by the throat and slams him against the wall. Habit feels y/n buckle under the pressure of Jeff's grasp and rage makes him stab outwards, only for his machete to fall on the floor. Jeff laughs a dark, sadistic laugh. One Habit has done before.
"You'd only be killing her," he says.
"I can live with that," Jeff snarls.
Habit!
He kicks out, aiming for Jeff's nuts, but his leg fazes right through him. Jeff throws Habit on the floor and he gasps for breath as black spots dance in his vision. Y/n has passed out from the trauma of it all, and that pisses him off even more. Habit gets up and faces the ghost boy.
"You're really fuckin' pissing me off."
"You took everything from me! From us! So why shouldn't I return the favor?"
"Because you're not me! Leave them the hell alone already, Jeff! For God's sake, they're your friends!" Habit yells, exasperated.
"Jeff?"
They both turn to look at where Evan and Vinny stand in the doorway of the kitchen.
"Don't do this, man," Vinny urges.
"This isn't you!" Evan adds.
Habit grabs Jeff from behind, the ghost too shocked to do anything but cry out.
"Don't make me kill you," he growls in Jeff's ear. "Again, that is."
"Do it," Jeff says. "You know you want to."
His rage fuels him, and he's about to kill Jeff (again) when something sharp stabs into him. He gasps and releases the boy, who vanishes. And as Habit takes the knife out of y/n's side, he sees Severance carved into it. And then Evan and Vinny are running to them, and he collapses into their arms.
Habit tries to hold on to her, he fights like hell, but nothing can stop the ancient rune from doing its job. His world goes black.
