Chapter 10: The Village Hidden In The Leaves

As Zia and her Pokemon continue on to Vermilion City, they encounter some... strange happenings. It started with a small pitfall but it's progressively getting more dangerous.

"Why is there a pit with spikes in it?!" Zia yells as she is just hanging above them by Emmy's vines. The Snivy hoists her back up and they all take a minute to breathe. "All these traps, it must mean someone is hiding something around here." Sky adds in as she looks around.

"Yeah well still. I don't really want to die yet." Zia mutters as she calms herself from all the adrenaline. She eventually stands again and they begin walking, cautious of anything suspicious. They reach a bridge and after a little hesitation, they begin walking across it.

They are halfway through when one of the ropes snaps. Zia is able to grab onto the other rope but her Pokemon weren't so lucky. "Emmy! Sky!" She yells as she jumps from the bridge, towards her Pokemon, falling into the river. She manages to gather them into her arms just as they plunge into the water.

Zia swims for the surface and they just barely get all their heads up as they flow down the fast paced river. They all reach out, hoping that they'll catch onto something. When it doesn't seem like they'll be able to, they are all suddenly grabbed by something or someone and pulled to the bank where they are finally able to breathe. Zia coughs up some water and opens her eyes to find a brown fish with blue fins.

Feebas: The Fish Pokemon
Feebas's fins are ragged and tattered from the start of its life. Because of its shoddy appearance, this Pokemon is largely ignored. It is capable of living in both the sea and in rivers.

"A Feebas, huh? You really aren't as bad looking as it makes you out to be. Really, you're kind of cute." Zia mutters as she pets the Feebas. It looks confused and taken aback by what she said, almost everyone thinks of Feebas as the ugliest Pokemon there is.

"Well thanks Feebas, you really saved us. I really can't thank you enough though." Zia says sadly as she wishes she could give something for the fish Pokemon. "Fee! Feebas!" It shouts as it nudges Zia as best it could from the water. Zia follows its gaze to see it lands on one of her pokeballs. "You want to come with me?" She questions. It nods and Zia's face breaks out into a huge smile.

"Of course you can, welcome to the team Tania." Zia announces as she catches her new Pokemon. It dings and she celebrates for a moment. She brings the Feebas back out and scans it.

Feebas: The Fish Pokemon
Type: Water

Egg Moves: Dragon Breath, Dragon Pulse, Hypnosis, Confuse Ray
- Feebas are generally found in the Hoenn Region.
Gender: Female

"Wow, you have a lot of potential as I can tell Tania. I don't want to look at your evolution yet, I want to keep it a surprise." Zia says happily as she brings back Tania and stands up, ready to continue on. However, she is stopped as a woman with long blue hair runs up to her.

"Are you alright?! I heard screaming from this direction." She exclaims worryingly as she looks over Zia. She nods. "Yes, I'm alright, that bridge just suddenly broke. I seem to be having a bad day with getting caught up in all these traps, though." The girl gasps and begins apologizing, "I'm so sorry, those were from me. I'm protecting a group of injured Pokemon you see and I didn't want anyone to find it." She explains while apologizing more.
