"I'm starving." A voice stated.
"Emmy, for the last time...!- Oh, it's wasn't you." Zia cut herself off as she followed the voice, expecting the Serperior, only to see the Luxray. "Hmph! I'm hurt you'd automatically think it was me." The grass-type huffed. "Oh, like I shouldn't. Every other minute you're whining about something." Zia rebutted.
Emmy opened her mouth to reply, but realized the other was right and stayed quiet. "Anyways, we can stop by Trovitopolis." KC offered, looking at the map. Zia leaned over his shoulder, looking as well.
"We can get off right here and walk to it. It's been a while since we've actually walked somewhere." Zia pointed out, wanting to stretch her legs. Everyone agreed as Ziton changed course to head for land.
~~~
"I see the light!" Emmy breathed out as she collapsed to the ground. "Emmy, stop it. We've only been walking for 10 minutes." Sky rolled her eyes. "Yeah, we can already see Trovitopolis, so come on." Zia told her as they looked over the hill at the city down near the shore.
Suddenly, screaming could be heard from in the distance. "What was that?" KC asked as they looked behind them. "I'm not su-AH!" Zia yelled at the end as the ground beneath them disappeared as they fell into a deep hole.
~~~
"Zi? Zi?" Kaida asked as she nudged the girl's shoulder. The group had landed on the pile of dirt that used to hold the hole above them together. Zia's face scrunched up before her eyes fluttered open.
"Kaida? Are you alright?" Zia asked as she sat up. "Yup!" The Dratini said happily. She then looked around to see Emmy and Sky being woken up by Kirlia. "Hel! Ge me ou a ere!" A voice shouted as they looked over to see KC's head stuck in the dirt.
Zia gasped, running over as she took one of his legs while the Pokemon took the other. "Hang on, KC!" She told him as they pulled. It took a couple of tries before the male was sent flying out, but out nonetheless. "I thought I was going to suffocate. Thanks." He sighed in relief, his face completely messy.
"Don't thank me, just get off." Zia mumbled as he looked down to see he landed on top of her. "Oops, sorry." He said sheepishly as he stood up. "Anyways, looks like there's a tunnel down there." Sky pointed out, realizing they landed in a cave.
The group decided to check it out, thinking it may lead to an exit. Seeing a light at the end, they pushed on only to find themselves still underground. "Is this a sewer?" Emmy asked as they glanced around. "Smells like it." Kirlia made a face of disgust.
"Well, we're actually lucky. Now we just need to find a manhole and it might lead us into the streets of Trovitopolis." KC stated. Walking along the edge of the water, they searched around for said manhole.
Sky tilted her head, hearing something. "Did you hear a bell ringing?" She asked as they continued to walk. "No/not me." The others replied. The Luxray's ears swiveled around. "There it is again! You can't tell me you don't hear that." She said, frustrated.
Zia, who was in the back looking up at the ceiling for the hole, felt something tapping on her shoulder. "KC, stop it." She said, believing it was him. She felt it again and got annoyed. "What do you want KC?!" She asked, turning around, only to see nothing. Confused, she turned back around to see her boyfriend and the Pokemon looking at her weirdly.
"You were in front of me?" She asked him. "Yeah..." He trailed off, not sure what just happened. "Then what was behind me?" She asked, frowning. Suddenly, something rose up behind the girl as the others screeched. "There's a monster behind you!" KC squealed as the girl turned around to see a vine-like appendage coming out of the water.
