"That is a really tall mountain." Emmy pointed out as they saw an island in the distance. Everyone deadpanned at her.
"Oh really? I couldn't see it." Zia said sarcastically. Emmy pouted but decided to not say anything back. "I believe that island is Navel Island." KC stated as he looked at the map. "Really? Thank Arceus, I was getting sick of looking at the water for hours on end." Kirlia sighed in relief as Ziton pulled up to the island.
Walking up to the village, it looked deserted. "Where is everyone?" Sky asked as they glanced around. "I don't see the gym either." Zia added, very confused. However, they then heard music behind them as they turned to see a sailboat gliding through the water with someone steering it. He had a red shirt with Geodude patterns on it and purple shorts. His hair was a reddish-brown color.
"Hi there. I bet you're all looking for a gym battle." He stated more than asked as he jumped off his boat. "That's right." Zia nodded. "Then you've come to the right place. I'm Danny." The older male introduced.
"I'm Zia, and this is Kaida, Sky, and Emmy. My Dratini, Serperior, and Luxray." Zia greeted him back. "And I'm KC. This is Kirlia." KC jumped in as well. "Zia? That's a beautiful name that suits you perfectly." Danny complimented, completely ignoring KC as he walked over and shook the girl's hand.
"O-oh, well thank you." Zia asked, embarrassed. "I've seen lots of beautiful things in these islands, but nothing as beautiful as you." He continued, making Zia blush. It wasn't everyday a stranger said these kinds of things. Behind them, KC was silently fuming.
After changing his clothes, Danny led them to another part of the island. "That's an awfully large backpack. You could fit everything you'd ever need in there." Zia joked, gazing as the large backpack the oldest male was carrying. "Well, you can't always be prepared for the surprises of life but I try to be prepared by knowing where I'm going and what I'll need before I do something." Danny explained.
"That's a nice philosophy. Very mature." Zia replied as she nodded her head. KC grumbled under his breath, "So what if he's older, more mature than me? So what if he's good looking? So what if he's cool? So what... I'm hopeless." He got more and more depressed the more he started comparing himself to the older.
Emmy and Sky looked between all of them before glancing at each other worriedly. "Huh? KC, did you say something?" Zia asked him. "Nope, not a word. Continue your conversation with Mr. Perfect over there." KC told her, obviously upset. KC and Zia had stopped by now as Dany kept walking, not hearing the conversation behind him.
Zia looked at KC strangely, wondering where the attitude came from. "Hey, Danny! Can you wait a minute? KC and I need to talk real quick." Zia asked him as he gave them a thumbs up, staying far enough away as to not eavesdrop.
Zia then turned back to her boyfriend. "What's wrong? You're usually not this grumpy." She questioned him, concerned. "It's nothing. Just go back to Danny." He mumbled, looking away.
Zia, being the oblivious person she is, finally realized what was wrong. "Oh, you're jealous. There's no reason to be, KC. I just met the guy. Besides, I'm sure he was just joking earlier, he probably does that to all the girls he meets." Zia told him as he glanced up at her, still a little unsure.
"Besides, you're my boyfriend and I couldn't have a better one." She said and kissed his cheek. That seemed to do it as KC blushed. "Fine, fine, I believe you. Let's go back now." The flushed male urged as Zia chuckled, grasping his hand in hers as they walked back over to Danny. He glanced at their hands and smirked. "I see." He muttered to himself before they started walking again.
