Still on their way to Vermilion City, our heroine and Pokemon are taking a break in a forest.
"When will we get to Vermilion?" Emmy asked as she looked at her trainer. "Well, we are getting closer, maybe another week, possibly two?" Zia mutters as she looks closer at the map she has. Emmy groans and sighs.
"Does anyone else see that big shadow?" Sky asks as she stares at a black mass. Emmy and Zia look over and also see it. All three walk closer and stay on alert. As they get close enough to see past the shadow they see a Charmander? It looked very weak. "Hey, Charmander are you alright?" Zia asks as she walks closer to the Pokemon.
"Char! Charmander!" It calls as it tries to explain. "He said that he's waiting for his trainer since he was told to wait here." Sky translated. Zia nodded and walked up to it and tried to heal it. However, it slapped away the medicine and shrunk away from Zia. She frowned and backed up. "Are you sure you'll be fine here?" She questions skeptically. The Charmander nodded and she sighed.
"Alright, I hope your trainer comes back soon Charmander!" She calls as she walks away with her two companions. They eventually see a Pokemon center a little ways away and notice it's about to rain. Not wanting to get wet, they sprint to shelter and make it just in time for the downpour. "That was close." Emmy whispered as she looked back out at the rain. Zia nodded and made her way inside to get some food since she's running low.
She gets some warm soup and tea for herself and pulled out some Pokemon food she still had left and let out her Pokemon. They where in an isolated corner so they weren't bothering anyone. She put Tania in a little fountain on the side so she wouldn't be uncomfortable.
As they were all eating, they overheard a conversation by a group of teenage guys on the other side of the relatively empty poke-center. There was a kid sitting in the middle with blue hair and a big number of pokeballs in front of him, more than the usual 6. "Yeah, I have quite the collection of strong Pokemon, you see?" He says as he gestures to the pile in front of him.
"Wow Damian, you're so cool! Didn't you have a Charmander as well?" Some other random kid asks him. Zia freezes and pays closer attention to the group, ignoring her soup. "Oh that weak thing? I left it at some rock and told it I'd come back! Stupid thing is probably still there hahaha!" He laughs and Zia twitches. She stands up, slamming her hands on the table. Her Pokemon look at her and back away, letting her deal with it.
She slowly walks over to Damian and stands in front of him. "Oh? What are you doing here pretty thing? I'd be happy to give you an autograph for someone such as you." He tries to flirt as he stands up and walks closer to her. Zia calmly looks at him and watches as he gets closer. "Did you say you left a Charmander on a rock a little ways from here?" She asks slowly.
Damian laughs. "Yeah, the thing deserved it, it was so weak." Zia twitches again at the blunt confession and steps a bit closer. Damian smirks, thinking she liked him. As Zia got close enough she suddenly kicked him where the sun don't shine bright. Then she punched him on the head, enough to knock him out. The rest of the group of boys looked scared and ran out. Zia huffed and turned to her Pokemon and Nurse Joy.
"Nurse Joy, call Officer Jenny. This kid is a Pokemon abuser and abandoner. Mayas and Avery come with me, everyone else guard this trash and don't let him go." Zia ordered as she ran out into the rain with her Clefable and Pidgeotto. They ran/flew all the way back to where Zia saw the weakened fire-type.
They eventually found it and saw it being attacked by a flock of birds.
