"It's finally time for what everyone's been waiting for. The long awaited match between the winner of the Indigo League and challenger of the Champion League, Zia Ray Braxs..." The announcer started as Zia waved to the crowd, who were going insane with applause and screams of admiration.

"...and the notorious dragon-type Elite Four member and both the champion of the Kanto and Johto regions, Lance!" They added as said man walked onto the field, his black and red cape billowing behind him. The girls screamed impossibly louder at his arrival, which Zia thought was worse than a Golbat's screech personally.

Lance stopped at his side of the battlefield as he smiled politely at Zia. If the girl was older and wasn't dating KC, she'd be swooning no doubt. However, because she was so much younger and having a boyfriend, she just smiled back, excited for the battle.

"I wish you luck, Zia. I have high hopes this battle will be one to remember." Lance stated as he got out his first pokeball. "I feel the same way." The girl replied as she also got out her pokeball.

"Go Gyarados/Ziton!" Both trainers yell at the same time as they release their Pokemon. Two equally towering and intimidating Gyarados appear on the field as their trainers look at the other in amusement.

"Great minds think alike." Zia jokes as Lance smirks. "The battle between Zia, the challenger, and Lance, the champion, will now commence!" The ref said as the crowd cheered.

Zia looked between the two giant water/flying-types before smiling. She just knows this will be a good battle. "Ziton, hydro pump." She began as her Gyarados released a column of water at the other.

"Defend with hydro pump." Lance calmly says as his face hardens, most likely getting into battle mode. His own Gyarados also sends out water from its mouth as the two moves collide, canceling each other out in a show of equally strong power.

Afterwards, a small shower of water falls down over the field, soaking both trainers and both Gyarados. Zia huffs in mild annoyance as she flips her wet, sticking hair over her shoulder to get it out of her way. She's been getting drenched too often for her liking lately

"Since it seems we're at the same level strength-wise, I'll just have to change that. Use dragon dance, Ziton!" Zia ordered. The water/flying-type glowed a reddish-pink with a misty aura around him before it broke. Feeling the extra power, Ziton roared in dominance.

However, when looking at Lance, his demeanor did not change from the calmness he started with. Zia wouldn't have expected any different. He is, after all, and Elite Four member and a champion.

"Hyper beam." He stated as his Gyarados opened its mouth, an orangish-yellow beam shooting out. Caught off guard, Ziton had no time to move out of the way before the extremely powerful move struck him directly, sending him toppling onto the ground.

"Ziton!" Zia yelled in concern. She needed to get him up, if he could, before Lance's Gyarados got out of the recharging state it's now in. "Can you keep going?" She asked, not wanting to push him.

The huge Pokemon grunted in feigned offense making Zia slightly smile as she watched him struggle to stand upright. "I won't be the only one to faint. Especially not in the most important match." Ziton stated as he finally extended to his full height, staring straight ahead at the opposing Gyarados, who was about ready to continue the battle.

To say Zia was proud was an understatement. All her Pokemon have come such a long way from when she first met each of them, it almost gave her a motherly sort of feeling when they see their children grow up. Now the Magikarp she saved from James was a ferocious Gyarados that was able to withstand a full-power hyper beam from the Gyarados of a champion.
