"The next member that Zia has to take down will be a tricky one to accomplish. It's Agatha, the ghost-type specialist of the Elite Four!" The announcer stated as a figure walked onto the field.
It was an older woman in a purple dress with a white apron. She had light blonde hair and held a brown cane. She eventually stopped on her side of the field, raking her eyes over Zia, not looking impressed at all.
"A child? How did Lorelei and Bruno lose against a child?" Agatha scoffed as Zia frowned. "I may be young, but that doesn't mean I can't battle well. I'd suggest you save those types of comments until I've lost, if I do, that is." Zia shot back. She definitely wasn't going to take those words lying down.
Agatha narrowed her eyes dangerously. "Confident for a brat still wet behind the ears. I will take great joy when you realize you're no match for the adults." She said. The crowd was silent as they watched the heating interaction between the two females.
The ref cautiously walked between the two, looking back and forth, feeling uncomfortable being in between the two predatory gazes, even if they weren't directed at him. "Will both sides send out their first Pokemon?" He asked a bit warily.
Zia decided to send hers out first, still a little heated. "Dimitri, let's give her something else to grumble over." She said as her Charizard landed on the field. "Char!" Is what the crowd heard him cry as he released a burning flamethrower into the air.
"Ha! Acting like the child you are. Gengar, let's send them home crying." Agatha stated as her ghost-type appeared on the field. It had that signature mischievous smirk on its face, reminding Zia of Aine, but this one's seemed more... twisted.
"Begin!" The ref shouted before scurrying away. "I don't want to waist my time with this. Gengar, end it with night shade." Agatha ordered. A black beam shot out of her Pokemon's eyes.
"Do not underestimate me. Dimitri, smokescreen." Zia countered, trying her best to keep calm so her emotions don't get the best of her. Her Charizard released a thick, black smoke that covered the field. Both Pokemon were hidden from each other so the night shade didn't hit.
Zia knew how tricky ghost-types were and realized it'd be difficult to attack head on. "Use flamethrower!" She called out. "Ha! What's that going to do if your Charizard can't see to aim?" Agatha scoffed, clearly not thinking highly of Zia at all.
The younger chose to ignore the rude comment, instead, she smirked. "It'll do this." She stated just as Dimitri released the giant flame from his mouth. As soon as it made contact with the huge smoke cloud in front of him, it made an explosion.
Agatha's Gengar flew out of it and landed hard on the ground. Dimitri was unharmed as he moved away and braced for it. The Elite Four member had a scowl on her face as she realized she was outplayed just then. She wasn't going to stand there and be taken as a fool because a child had some luck.
"Gengar, use hypnosis!" She commanded, showing she wasn't happy. The Pokemon hopped back on its feet and was outlined in blue as it swung its arms around in a hypnotic pattern.
"We're not falling for such a basic trick. Use fire spin on yourself." Zia told her Pokemon. Dimitri released the flaming funnel while facing directly upwards. The fire spin landed around him, blocking out the hypnosis.
The crowd was shocked, it seemed reckless to use a damaging move on your own Pokemon. However, Zia seemed perfectly calm. "You really are a child. Who in their right mind tells their Pokemon to use fire spin on themselves? You're asking to lose if you purposefully tell your Pokemon to damage itself." Agatha states arrogantly.
"Who says its damaging him?" Zia asked just as her Charizard flew out of the opening on the top of the fire spin. Completely unharmed, he flew in the air as he stared down Agatha and her Gengar in amusement. The old lady and her Pokemon were shocked before they quickly schooled their features.
