"Zia, Zia, wake up!" KC yelled as he shook the girl awake. Zia opened her eyes and looked at KC. "What's wrong?" She asked as she got up.
"Something's wrong with Emmy." He told her, getting a shocked look in return. "Where's she at?" She asked, concerned. "Over here." He said and lead her over to the Serperior. She was coiled in on herself, a feverish red hue on her face. Her breathing sounded heavy.
Zia ran over and knelt next to her. "Emmy, what's wrong?" She asked. "I, I don't... My throat..." She rasped out. "We have to get her to a doctor." KC stated. Zia turned to Sky, who looked just as worried. "Can you carry her, Sky?" She asked. "Yeah, just put her on my back." The Luxray said as she stood up.
Zia and KC each got ahold of the serpent-like Pokemon and put her on Sky's back. "Now let's go." Zia ordered as she picked up the egg and placing it in her bag, KC picking up Kirlia. They began to run towards the nearest Pokemon center, but quickly realized that there wasn't one for miles.
"How about a human hospital? They've got to be able to do something." KC suggested. "Alright, it's our only option." Zia agreed as they changed route and went towards the hospital.
However, it was closed. "Why is a hospital closed? That is the dumbest thing I've ever seen." Zia grumbled as she looked over at Emmy, who wasn't looking any better. Zia knocked on the door again, but it opened this time.
An adult man walked out, looking tired, dressed up in a doctor's garb. "Just getting some sleep too." He muttered. "Please help us, it's an emergency." KC asked as the doctor looked at him.
"Please, Doctor? We need your help." Zia pleaded as the man turned towards her. Her blue doe eyes looked up at him as her face could just about break anyone's heart. "Well, how could I turn down such a pretty face?" He asked rhetorically.
They suddenly moved into an examination room as the doctor sat Zia on a table. "What seems to be the problem, little lady?" He asked her. "What? I'm not sick, it's my Pokemon!" She exclaimed, pointing over to the still sick Serperior who was laid across the Luxray,
Sky moved closer as Zia and KC lifted her onto the table. "This is a hospital for people. Why don't you take your Pokemon down to Joy at the Pokemon Center?" The doctor asks. "It's to far from here, she might not make it. Please just look at her?" KC asked.
"I'm sorry, but I'm a specialist in human medicine." He argued. "Just take a look, please?" Zia stressed. "I've just never been able to refuse requests from young girls." The doctor muttered after thinking about it.
"Okay. It's not my specialty, but Dr. Proctor will do his best to help." He agreed, making Zia sigh. He got out his stethoscope as he turned a few overhead lights on. He checked Emmy's heartbeat and breathing first.
After listening for a few moments, he stood back up. "There's something stuck in its throat." Dr. Proctor stated. He then used another device to check something else. "It's energy is low. How does it gain energy? I've never seen a Pokemon like this." He asked Zia.
"She's a Serperior. She uses solar energy." She answered. "Solar, huh?" He muttered as he thought for a moment. "Good thing we're on the top floor." He said as he went over to the window. He opened it to let sunlight in as he also got a remote from a table.
"The hospital has just recently added some movable windows to replace the regular ones. With these, I can move them in different direction, it's to allow more sunlight to come in. If I could angle it just right." He muttered as he fiddled with it. Suddenly, a beam of light came through the window and landed on Emmy.
As she absorbed the added solar energy, she began to become conscious again. "Now that it's awake, I can take care of its throat. Say, 'ahh'." Dr. Proctor said as Emmy opened her mouth. "This'll only hurt a little." He muttered as he put a glove on and stuck his hand into her mouth.
