Our protagonists had quickly reached Kumquat Island, the home of the fourth and last Orange Crew Gym Leader, as they had become very inept at using the map, and had run into no detours along the way.

"So, besides me, who're you going to use in the challenge?" Emmy asked, presuming she'd be the first choice. "What do you mean besides you? Obviously I'm first." Sky corrected.

"Huh? No way, I'm stronger, so I'm the best choice." The Serperior shot back. "Keep telling yourself that. But we all know I'm superior." The Luxray argued, not wanting to back down. "No, I'm Serperior!... I mean superior! Well, both actually..." Emmy trailed off, getting confused.

Zia finally snapped. "Neither of you are going to be in this match if you keep acting like little children! I get your rivalry, but that does not mean you can act like you're better than the other. You both have your own unique strengths and weaknesses and that's the end of that." Zia told them firmly, not wanting to listen to it anymore.

The two Pokemon stopped talking, looking away in different directions stubbornly. Zia sighed and laid against KC's shoulder. "Even if they fight like this, I know they're still best friends. But sometimes it can get out of hand." She mumbled as her boyfriend put an arm around her. "They'll get past it, don't worry." He assured her as she nodded.

When they got onto the island, they began to walk around. Multiple people were yelling into the crowd about deals in their respective hotels, trying to get the tourists and vacationers to stay at their business. "Should we get a room?" KC asked, hearing an especially loud red head yelling above the rest about her hotel.

"I don't think we'll be here long enough. Let's just wait and see." Zia answered as they walked down to the beach, seeing if they could find a quick snack to eat. However, as they were walking along the sand, they heard what sounded like a stampede behind them.

"Sonny boy! Sonny boy! It's momma wamma!" The red headed woman from earlier was shouting, heading straight for their group. "Come to momma wamma!" She continued to yell, getting closer. Finally, she grabbed KC and smashed him into what looked like a painful hug. Kirlia was glad he wasn't holding her in that moment, otherwise she would've been crushed.

"My son is back with his momma! My son, my pride, my joy. My heart, my soul, my light. My star, my world, my love, you're home!" She listed out, emphasizing how much she missed her 'son'. She then let the poor, almost suffocated, brunette go as he gasped for air.

They all looked at her rather strangely. "Excuse me, who are you?" KC asked, honestly a little scared. "Travis, you don't even remember your own mommy wommy. Oh, my little pumpkin. Momma's here now." The woman cooed as she hugged him again. "Wait a second!" KC exclaimed as he pulled back out. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but my name's KC and you are not my mother." He told her. Even if she was, his parents abandoned him so their no longer his parents in his eyes.

"Oh my goodness. I could've sworn you were Travis. Excuse me, it must be what they call wishful thinking." The lady apologized. "So KC must really look like your son." Zia stated, making herself known. "Yes, he does. He was even traveling with a girl the last I heard. Though, I never saw her, so I only based it on the fact that you were walking with a beautiful girl here. If you don't mind me asking, are you two dating?" The older asked with an excited glint in her eyes.

Zia blushed at the compliment as KC smiled widely. "Yup. For a couple months now, too." He stated proudly as Zia nodded beside him. "Oh, how cute! I love young love." The red head sighed dreamily. "Did your son go on a Pokemon journey?" Zia then asked.

"Yes, that's right. Now that I'm up close, you look familiar, young lady." The older suddenly said, leaning in closer to get a good look at Zia. "Ah ha! You're the new Champion!" She exclaimed as Zia's eyes widened at her loud voice, glancing around to see if anyone heard. Thankfully, no one noticed somehow.
