Brent was about to punch me in the ribs again, but the doorbell rang so he slapped my left cheek before growling at me, saliva flying everywhere.
"Stay here," He rasped and locked the door of my bedroom behind him when he went to answer the door. "Hello?" He added as politely as possible.
"Hey, uh, are you okay? I thought I heard a scream or something," A guy who sounded about my age, with a peculiar accent, said at the front door.
"No, we're fine thanks. I just dropped my girlfriend's vase, it got her upset," Brent covered.
"I can come in and clean up if you like?" The boy suggests. That's something I don't hear much.
"No, I have some things to do, thanks though," With that, Brent slams the door shut and unlocks the bedroom door, walks up to me, and picks me up from the floor by the ripped collar of my faded grey t-shirt. "Where were we?"
My violent and abusive boyfriend brings his clenched fist to my stomach and leaves the room, tossing a water bottle at me before he officially leaves me alone in the dim, windowless, colorless, bedroom.
